So this morning it was a little below zero. This is the second time I've started my SDL this year when it was below zero and both times I swear the starter turned the engine over faster than at higher ambient temperatures. It cranked kinda like a gasser with the spark plugs out.

So both times I got it started, just trying to figure out what's causing this. The first time it happened, I actually stopped cranking as I thought there was something wrong. But after a couple more heat cycles on the glow plugs, I had to feather the throttle just the slightest and it started.

So the glow plug circuit and fuel system are tip top, and this car starts with very little cranking. My only other input is that it's got regular Delo oil in it, and my only thought is that the fuel could have been slightly gelled so maybe I was cranking with zero fuel entering the cylinders.

As always, any input is appreciated.
