Hi everyone. I’ve been a mechanic for years both civilian and military, but this is the first diesel I’ve ever owned. Truck has been sitting for a couple years, but I plan on putting it back on the road.

My 86 Crew can dually was my first diesel, I got it @ 7yrs ago. And as IDIbronco said in his "red truck" thread, I've driven on of these idis for so long I really don't want to drive gasoline engine trucks. There's a lot of great information on here, I HIGHLY recommend that you learn about "cavitation" in these engines. I lost a motor to cavitation almost 2 years ago and it really sucked! The only good thing that came out of loosing that NAIDI was that I happened to then be at the right place at the right time to score my turbo IDI, and I really like my turbo IDI.
