I own a 1989 f350 automatic idi,I bought a stock turbo off a 1994 idi, I have all the exhaust hooked up and Iam ready to put to turbo on but I don't have any oil lines, gaskets o rings, I've heard talk about a cdr valve too I might need? I'm all new to the diesel game and turbos as well, the dealership is no help and neither are any of my friends! Anyone on here have an idea were I can get the oil lines or can walk me through what I need to buy I would greatly appreciate it very much I've been without a truck for 2 weeks riding an enduro everywhere! Thanks -Steven

Welcome to the forum Steven. We have several very good knowledgeable members down where you are. As for a parts source that kinda tuff. Ask typ4 aka Russ about the oil lines and other parts needed. If anyone has a connection he does. Hes located in Oregon and rebuild these turbos very well. Also Conestoga Diesel Shop in pa. Mel aka agnem can probably help you. Both of these guys are stellar members here that give you want you want and wont sell you something you don't need. The turbo you talking about got its oil supply from the back top of the engine behind the turbo. Its the location where the stock oil pressure sender was. That port should be cleaned out and fluched before its used as a oil sully for any turbo. My Banks turbo gets its oil supply from the drivers side bellhousing flanhe on the block. Thats a 1/8 inch port with a very difficult plug to remove. Ask for help about getting it out. Probably the best method is to get a socket for a square hex like the plug has. I have a set of square sockets if you need one. Hust let me know thru the *** here.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it I'm getting frustrated by the whole situation I had my truck towed to a shop today and they told me I have to pull my motor and bash in my firewall for the up pipe and down pipe to fit and told me I'm better off buying a bolt on kit, I guess I messed up by just buying the turbo and exhaust piping and not knowing what I need or am missing, so how do I message the guy ur talking about or find a member in SoCal who could help me out? I'm about to have to unbolt all my exhaust piping and and y pipe and everything to make it n/a just my idiot neighbor stole all my exhaust piping from my yard so now I have to find a stock exaust to get my truck on the road, I forgot to mention to when I bought the turbo I bought a built Dps ip pump cuz mine was leaking so it's cranking way to much fuel my egts won't stay under 1000 unless I barely have my foot on the throttle so towing is out of the question. Ill try that place in pa see if they can help me or work work and work and collect cans to maybe afford a hypermax bolt on kit or something for 2 grand and hope it's an actual bolt on kit. Truck has 40k for an 1989 without a dent so getting rid of it is out of the question! Any idi members local to so cal please reply or give me a call or text I could use any help I can get! My 6.0 company truck is in the shop too with the typical egr cooler problems so I can't even really do my job because I can't carry tools on an enduro lol 6199227439 thanks to anyone who replys or reads this hope one day I can prove to my friends with huge truck payments these idis are beasts!

You prolly wont have to pull the engine. Do a little research, and you'll find the method of cutting the firewall lip, and bending it down for the down pipe to fit.

for the firewall lip 2x4 and bfh do wonders

oil lines the threads on the back of the motor you tap into are 1/8 inch npt get that to -an and then adapt to the turbo.

the cdr is supposedly needed i keept mine but added a valve cover breather and theres much less oil in the intake now. as for with a turbo block off the cdr and add a pvc valve in the valvecover if you cannot find the right stuff and run a road draft tube

I have seals and oil line kits available, shoot your neighbor. The exhaust flanges are needed , by me to make new crossovers.
