Well gents, after much deliberation I've decided to sell (ahem, dump)the tow truck. It's been real, it's been fun, but not real fun. Several months back it started to not want to crank up sometimes and finally just quit cranking up. It's spinning over really fast so I know it doesn't have much compression. I've tried a few different things, like B12 soaking the pistons and got nothing. There's no telling how much idling this truck did before I got it on top of me feeding it WMO, so it's somewhere between mirror polished cylinder walls and stuck rings.

I've got a couple projects I want to work on this year and it'd be probably 2+yrs before I could even consider messing with it, so I've dicided to send it.

She's posted on Okaloosa Craigslist if you want to look at my write up there and contact me that way. Or you can message me through here. Anyhoo.....$2500.

You should post a link here for the locals
I would, but I don't know how. Lol, I'm inept concerning such technical understanding, thus I drive a mechanically injected diesel on waste motor oil.....

You think maybe the WMO mirrow polished & shinned up the cylinder walls & stuck the rings??? HUmmmmm
I don't know, it smoked when I got it and it was really rough then too......I probably haven't helped it. I just finished nailing the lid on the coffin.

I just have other stuff I want to mess with and figured I'd give someone else a shot at tow truck ownership.

Absolutely. It should literally be that easy, I'm just more interested in,...... like, Honda 3 wheelers right now, and my wife's firebird (KITT), and if I don't start diddling with my 84 bronco, I'm gonna cry.

Truth told, at the price I have on the truck, I'm really selling the bed and you get a project truck for FREE! In my opinion, the bed should be on a GMC topkick or Ford L7000 or something of that nature. It's too heavy for the one ton cab chassis.
