All right guys so this is my first build thread. So for the last couple weeks I have been tearing down my 1984 6.9 idi f250 and a 1994.5 7.3 powerstroke. So far I have the front end of both trucks ripped apart fenders hood ect. I'm going to not only swap the engine and transmission but also the interior. I will post pictures of both trucks later today.

The old idi was starting to eat coolant like a mother so when a 1994 that was totaled for cab damage I got to thinking... Why not. Why be like everyone else?

Tomorrow I hope to pull the engine and trans out and trailer the thing to get pressure washed.... going to try to get rid of 33 years worth of grease and dirt

I got the engine out today. Wasn't to terrible to remove with the tractor. Hardest part was getting it away from the transmission. It almost feels to easy. I'm sure I will hit a road block here soon tho

I was just wondering about the reason for the idea. I like it. After I got my Bronco built, I had the opportunity to but a 1995 F250 with a PSD. I really thought about it, but decided that I had just finished putting the IDI in there and there was NO WAY that I wanted to do all of that again. So I passed on it.

Yeah the old 6.9 idi was a good motor but it just went through so much coolant so quickly. so when this 7.3 fell into my hands I did some digging and found people have done is so I wanted to give it my best shot

FYI...
this would eliminate some firewall mods.
