1983 f250 solid front axle swap?

Hey, y'all! New to the forum and this is my first post.
Thought I'd ask if it were possible or practical to switch out the independent front axle on a1983 ford f250 with say a Dana 55 or something similar. What all would it involve and what would be the best way to go about doing it if feasible? The pickup is 4x4.
