Some of the fuel jockeys and jockets don't know its ok for you to pump your own fuel and get down right salty about it. Another I had to tell 3 times DIESEL and she still reached to the gas pump.
If its a raised block, to the right of the distributor there is a machined flat surface. It will have the Cubic inches stamped on it. 440, 413, 426 wedge. If it has an AC pump it might be hard to see.
72 had low compression heads and a cast crank.
Which gear ratio does it have. I think they came with either 3:55 or 4:10
That would influence how tall a tire I would want.
and then you have the dowel pin of death to worry about.
For me it comes and goes. I doubt its the intent of the powers that be. They might be still ironing out the bugs.
Unlike some other sites I could name where if you don't pay to upgrade you wait 30 seconds or so for anything to load
Neighbor has a 97 with 352,000 miles with ify maintenance. It still runs excellent.
Mine is just about to turn 29,000 so in all probability the truck will out live me >8-/
I had a nice reply all typed out and then hit the wrong key and it all went PPPFFFFTTT :(
Anyways, Randy's has a list of different ones.

I will say this, some work a lot better than others do.
Check the fuel pumps. Not uncommon for the lift pump to stop working. Same thing happened to what's his name over at whatever the name of that site is that I won't mention. Turned out to be a lift pump.
Its a non trubo 6.2 and doesn't smoke, something is wrong for sure. What I don't know but I'm guessing its fuel related. They have two fuel pumps. I'd check the fuel pressure at the lift pump.
I named a truck once years ago and vowed I'd never do it again. I felt like an idiot in the parking garage when I couldn't remember where I parked.
OL BLUE WHERE ARE YYYOOOUUUUU!
Worn cam bearings can let the oil pressure drop. 440's have poor oiling. At high RPM they can pump the pan dry. Unless the oil drain holes in the heads have been opened up.
If it were me I'd swap back to a stock oil pump or change the spring out of the high pressure one. Not a big deal due...
