Ah ! One very important oversite ....... for now, I need the small block 4WD C6, if there is a length difference between a large block cc, I don't know !
There are 2 different adapters for the NP205 attachment, a short 5 3/4" and a longer 8 15/16" adapter. The shorter adapters are very hard to locate. Only the married NP's could even be consider for use in such a short drivetrain. Other than going to a standard tranny, I have concluded that the...
Is this the end to end, such as you would have a 2x4 flat on up each surface, then measure a true distance between them, or following the bellhousing? I have the 5 3/4" NP205 adapter. So the total length of a 4WD C6 w/NP205 would be ... (C6) 25 1/2 + (NP205 w/adapter) 18 3/4 =
Correct me if...
What a Ride
They are still making them ........ AWESOME YEA !
Aren't they the most awesome thing to drive, you've ever been in.....
I think they are a blast, especially on the Houston Freeways at rush hour.
They can get in some tight places quick huh. What's the craziest thing ya'll have done...
Safety
:hail
The 1st Principle behind Vehicle Safety
in any modification, the added weight will need to be balanced out over the entire truck. The suspension & braking system play a very important part in the performance & the ability of a vehicle to operate correctly.
I'm sure it sounds...
Excellent Thank you, for the drawing.
I think, that the married NP205 out of a late '77 will be about as short as they've come .... in an automatic HD.
I've got a NP208 still in the crate it came in.... it is of no use to me .... I didn't know better, then.
crossmember setup
I have a triangular looking plate with a few bolts that will need to attach somehow to the engine crossmember. It comes from just behind the U-Bolt shackle of the leaf on the passenger side. Do I get an adapter, from where? Forgive my ignorance .... but, whats it called...
A piece of cake.... I can do a complete 180 with 4' outside the SQ2 of this truck, pretty quick
WheelBase 89"
:hail
I'm getting to where I can almost do it as quick in 2'
And for some reason, I guess the IFS &TTB, It will do circles around
most Jeeps !
It is VERY quick to respond.
I think I can squeeze a married NP205 in place. It is hell sometimes, just getting a simple dimension. I've put in a yr. on the swap, and still don't have it. Oh Well, everyones intitled to an opinion. I just need a dimension, to be able to run the doubts off the road. I need the married NP205...
Which way are we pointing here.... How can I attach to the '81 4.9L engine crossmember .... solid '94 Dana 60 ball joint w/leafs, replacing 2WD Kingpin IFS/TTB w/coils.
I've never done anything 4WD or even owned, much less driven a 4WD. What do I expect I should know before performing this swap...
Can I ask how you attached to the engine crossmember !
Nice job. I have just about everything, and I will be doing the same swap to my '81 F350 BobTail Dually. see: http://www.victoriatexas.org/pictures.htm
Could you provide a picture here so I can see what you've done, please.
