Axle Type
When they say too narrow, that means that the spring pad spacing is too narrow. The regular pick-up frame is wider and the spring spacing is wider than the cab chassis (C/C) that all the F-Superdutys are. And you can't move the spring pads outboard on the Dana 80 to match the pick-up frame...- djnsj

sleeving a 7.3
Thanks for the ideas. I was looking at sleeving the bored out block just to get back some cyl. wall thickness. Since it's going to have to be worked on, I wanted to get it all done at one time, and not have to worry about it again. Going down to a 6.9 or 6.9+ was to gain more cyl. wall. One...- djnsj

sleeving a 7.3
I'm wanting to sleeve a 7.3 block down to 6.9, maybe at .030 over. I've got to blocks to choose from, one that's still in the truck that I assume is original. Lost a freeze plug so I'm hoping the block is ok and assume that it's not been bored already. Or I have a rebuilt block out of another...- djnsj

REAR END QUESTION
My idea is to put the frt and rr axles out of a '93 SD into my '89 F350 CC dually p/u. Since the spring pad spacing on the SD doesn't match the p/u frame width, and you can't space the spring perchs out farther, at least that I can tell, I either have to cut and section in the rear part of the...- djnsj

REAR END QUESTION
if I'm not mistaken, the factory w.b. options were 137" and 161" and I think a longer one. A factory bed will leave a gap on the short w.b. I thot I'd also heard that the distance between the inside of the inner duals is narrower than a regular bed's wheel wells. I've been trying to figure...- djnsj

Travis ain't got Chit on me!
How big a chain were you using? How did the lifting point let go before the chain did? You using mil surplus aircraft carrier anchor chain? sent my son out to pull some trees out of the yard, using 3/8" chain, and he came back a while later to say that the back window of the Bronco wasn't able...- djnsj

In taking my engine apart, found that it had spun 2 rod bearings. Looked like the dealership that had put it in as a Ford authorized reman failed to seat the oil dipstick tube all the way into the block, as I found the tube secured at the valve cover but lacked about 3/4" of getting into the...- djnsj

10 lug front axles
hate to hijack this thread, but where have you seen the 8 bolt to 10 bolt adapters for the front end? on a D60 frt end. I'm wanting to do the same thing and can't find the adapter.- djnsj
