trans question?? help would be appreciated
it's not a blow-by valve, it's just a vent. and yes, your transmission probably overheated. Most guys use the cooler out of a 6.0 equipped truck. It's a bolt-in deal. Get the fluid changed ASAP.- JLDickmon

Dummy needs some information
it's called a 'lie-o-meter' and it's a common problem... you have to take it off the roof, then open it up and re-solder a couple of joints that are notorious for coming loose.. PSD question-asking here because theres not much traffic in the PSD forum......
Rich was correct.. that tach buffer in a late 99 & on renders this trick useless.. you COULD however, read a sync signal on a scan tool, like AE.- JLDickmon

what he should have done was a 'long block' swap, and then take the injectors & electronics from the '00 and put it back in the '00 and plug the fuel pump hole with a core plug, as has been suggested. any other attempts to 'hybridize" or "make it work" would be like teaching a pig to sing...- JLDickmon

Mel, you could swap it out for the bolt-action, the lost farmer did offer one.. but frankly, with 200k on that 4r100, it's done. That's why it feels so nasty. If you put a lockup switch on it, you're going to: A. lug the motor, which will irritate you even more B. probably twist the 4th...- JLDickmon

very first pic in the very first post.. gasket is leaking at the 10:30 point.. your latest post.. second pic.. leak is at 5:30 3rd pic.. both holes leaking around the pre-cups I wasn't smart enough to read the whole thread before I posted.. Chassis paint
POR is EXPENSIVE. I'm looking to basically do the same thing (running gear on our show hitch wagon) and the paint shop had another brand that was less exhorbitant.. can't remember what it was called.. but your Rust Bullet is probably similar. DON'T get this stuff on things you don't want it...- JLDickmon

I think by DOT standard it needs something, but what passes as "muffler" is basically a spark arrestor don't forget to slide your rain caps down a little to prevent that annoying "chink-chink-kachink" noise while idling at stoplights...- JLDickmon

make sure you have a reference voltage at the sensor on the throttle pedal, but these pedals are known for reliability (or lack thereof) issues....- JLDickmon

Weird fuel gauge readings.
most likely, a failed sending unit.. but there also could be a corrosion/resistance problem in the wiring.. you're looking at dropping the tank and manipulating the sender by hand while you watch the gauge unit.- JLDickmon
