I just completed this swap, I found that having the pan hard bar at same angle of drag link made the steering fantastic especially with the SKY shackel reversal kit. Rides great and NO noticeable bump steering- Poppasmurph

Idi vs super duty
For mirror options on OBS trucks look into 'Ambulance Mirrors' ...They fit excellent and look good, If you get them outta a scrap yard you are only looking at a half hour woork and less than half the cost of some of these west coast mirrors for sale that dont really match our body lines. just...- Poppasmurph

Dreaded ATS OEM Turbo Up-pipe slip joint leak has killed my boost 2022 edition.
Some auto body steel wool, mix some high-temp RTV into it...tuck tightly into pipe slip-joint on exterior of inside pipe. allow to cure. easy to remove if ever have to take apart and only 10.00 in materials.- Poppasmurph

7.3 idi factory turbo best way to seal up-pipe
Old thread I know but.....but autobody steel wool......take a pad and gently pull it apart untill you have a long mess of steel wool. Massage it for a bit to get the broken bits out ( there will be some). Hope your wearing your gloves and glasses, now take your favorite high temp RTV and work...- Poppasmurph

I got the engine purring now and drove her around town for 2 days...... damn!!! 4th gear will get me all the way to 57mph flat out!!! So away I went. New interior, to include a set of seats from an 1986 e350 motorhome ,replaced heater/ac box, replaced wire harness ( underdash under hood), built a new steering column, installed a pedal assy, complete guage package to look after the vitals...- Poppasmurph

Here are all the details I've found out about her during the assessment, its a 1985 F Superduty. 7.3 idi with ATS turbo. 2 yes 2 42 gallon saddle tanks, custom RV driver and passenger seats, hide-a-bed rear seat, all the additions to the cab and the bed is heavy ( I mean heavy) guage steel...- Poppasmurph

I did it myself, alot of info in these forums and parts are easy to source, the one input seal had to come from europe because no longer available in US but total cost for ALL bearings and seals was less than $300.00- Poppasmurph

Looking for a replacement USGear unit, mine just got rebuilt then trans went out and I can't put it on my ZF5.
