If you don't have plastic around striker pin you need a new striker. Just replaced mine problem solved after year of clunking. Advance or autozone have them $8.99 here the part no. http://www.dormanproducts.com/p-6999-38448.aspx
You can remove the engine with the TC still bolted to flywheel I just did it a couple months ago. My engine was seized and I couldn't rotate it to unbolt TC. Just make sure the oil filter is off, thats what held me up for a few minutes.
Picked up from garage had it timed seems to run ok. Said he had to advance pump about .060 which I can tell from the mark I made prior to dropping off. Replaced passenger mirror. Took off windsheild molding and resealed windsheild. Hopefully no more leaky. Then I can get the stinky carpet out...
Dropped old white off at garage to get her timed. Happened to stop their to talk to mechanic about the kids Jeep that happened to die in front of their shop. These guys use to work on our towns school buses so I asked if he still had a timing light for the IDI's and he does. Said he almost...
Dam that is a sweet looking engine. Wish I had the time to detail the engine I just put in that much.
I did adjust my timing today and put the front bumper back on. Oh and gave her a bath for the 1st time all year. Sure is nice to drive her again.
Put new batteries in and a new posi cable. Facet fuel pump. Fired it up for 1st time with new to me motor and took it for a spin to go vote. No leaks ;Sweet
Need to adjust timing a bit not enough giddie up.

Here is the reason for pulling the motor nice hole in block and oil pan
I will post more pics as I continue with this project.
Been a while since I posted here but time has come. I'm going to be pulling the motor on my F250 and was wondering if there are any tech articles tips with the best / easiest ways to yank and install its replacement in this bad boy. Searching didn't seem to come up with anything specific...
Thanks for the reply's thats the kind of info I needed. On the serpentine set up I'm more concerned about the harmonic balance r I figured the rest of the things will bolt right up.
Hey guys been a while since I posted on here. But I'm in need of some help. My 7.3 died last week by means of a rod through the block. Been trying to hunt down a new motor and found one from a e350 and was wondering what other than the oil filler neck and oil cooler might be different. Also is...
No its in my 92 IDI. And now that you mention it I do remember the switch number didn't jive. I believe its a regular spst toggle on/off. Also there is no issue w/ the blinking O/D light. I think thats the reason I went with this one. I do plan on building another one for the 02 sone as it warms...
Heres a link to the one I built and put in my 92 works great. But unlike the link above it only has the one LED but it will light even when not using the manual lock up so you will know when the TC is actually locked.
sootman73 I believe what your lookin for ins on the firewall by the brake...
Hey Zig,
I got one on my truck and it shifts great. Upshifting is the way it should be no over reving and downshifting is great also. Only problem is remembering to sitch it off. I built this one hook up the same as the powrstroke. Whats the auto setting one your talking about. The one I...
I agree with checking the E brake. I had the same problem and after I thought I adjusted the rear brakes I had a soft pedal and the E barake wouldn't hold the truck while in drive. Made the adjustment and all is good.
Well thanks for the replies. I do have the problem with filling it to, but am use to that. I use a piece of a long funnel to put in the filler neck to get a good seal with the pump and can fill it pretty quick with that set up. I was told on another site that there is a vent tube on top of the...
Hi All,
I been wondering why is it everytime I go to put fuel in the rear tank I hear a sucking sound like its not venting. I switched caps with the front tank which doesn't make the sucking sound but its still the same. Anyone have a clue as to why it does it? Truck seems to run the same on...
