    Good by and good luck!

I enjoyed meeting many of you and helping others out. I have decided I am no longer going to support the site as the site owners do not not want to police their site, assist in making it a positive place to be, and hold anyone accountable for breaking the rules. There is a member who wants...

Thumbs up for 7lb radiator cap!

I have not had that issue. My radiator in my truck stayed full till my coolant bottle cracked 2 years ago. Now it is always a couple inches low.

    DTI 3300 timing issues

Wrenchhore, Sorry you are having issues with your DTI unit. FYI these units are relatively fragile. 1) Most do not have an issue with the injector line clamp. So they can get rpm. Do sand off the paint where you clamp it. 2) Most do have issues with the damper probe. They are very picky...

Charging Glitch... I hate electrical Issues!

Some thoughts - 1) Check the wiring on the alt. Top plug, back charge wire, and ground (Bolts to block.) on the alternator. Make sure all are clean tight and not loose. If your plug with the two wires is loose you could have erratic charging. 2) Pull the plug out of the regulator and check...

    Hey Bart! (Smoke on startup.)

Add to the work list - Check the flux capacitor - Check the ball bearings, as Fletch said, it’s all gone ball bearings these days. :p

    Bucking on acceleration when warm

Two thoughts 1) The fuel tank sensors in our trucks are old and failing. Usually true then die. But perhaps yours is dying a slow inaccurate death. 2) The last 3-4 inches of the fuel pickup line is a big plastic thing referred to as a shower head. They fall/break off and all the sudden at...

    C6 shifting late/hard

It is very hard to believe when your VRV valve on the IP pump is not working or the transmission modulator it supplies vacuum to is not working. That it would cause a late and very hard shift but it does. But if you let off the gas at higher rpm it will shift. 1) Check to see if your vacuum...

    Dana 60 turn radius

Ditto on pitman arm. I would check if you both lock out the same left to right distance since you axles seem to be from different years.

    Hard Fuel Line possible adapters/connections

Lotzagoodstuff nailed it. But Ace Hardware or True Value should stock it. Perhaps Home Depot will have it too.

    Dana 60 turn radius

Nero, We need a little more to go on. Like tire size, lift kit, 4x4, if 4x4 do they have the same Dana axle, both brick nose, same years, stock steering, same pitman arm, both have the Ford or Saginaw steering box, etc.? So help us understand what you both have so we can noodle on it.

Tizzy, I am glad you got it fixed.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Gandalf, Sounds about right. She has it stated in the sig “The fleet”. That does not even include the toys! Danielle, As I recall you work for or run a automotive repair shop, did I get that correct? If so it makes sense, you see lots of cheap used vehicles folks don’t want to fix or want...

Thumbs up for 7lb radiator cap!

Those replacement ends work, but as you have seen, they are problematic over time. Rock Auto has the complete replacement set of battery cables if you ever want them.

Thumbs up for 7lb radiator cap!

I like your raderaid system! However that battery connection looks dicey. Likely robbing you of some starting and charging capacity.

Thumbs up for 7lb radiator cap!

The theory is you are less likely to have cooling system leaks. Such as radiator, heater core, head gasket, water pump, oil cooler, and hoses. So often on aging vehicles people put lesser caps on. In theory a 7# cap is pushing out 45% less on all those items. The flip side of the story...

That very well is your issue.

Thumbs up for 7lb radiator cap!

Thats if your plastic overflow tank has not already cracked and started leaking.:( They seem to be failing at this age. Ford no longer makes the early style ones, could not find an OEM aftermarket one either, but eyeing the aluminum one Classic Diesel Designs sells...

B pedal slowly going to floor w/eng running

Keep in mind many of us entered the IDI pain funnel like you. These trucks are ~30 years old, most have +150,000 miles, and many were not well maintained by the prior owners. So it’s one thing after another the first few months. But they are Ford tough and with some love and tlc they are good...

    1993 E4OD torque converter

The E40D and it’s younger brothers never did fill the shoes of the very reliable C6. But they are relatively reliable. The bigger challenge in my opinion is they are old and many tranny shops don’t know how to diagnose them. The rebuilding is not the challenge, it’s the electrical side...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I had seen the green, was wondering what that was, the avatar’s are low resolution so could not make it out. Was wondering if some jerk had vandalized your truck. But now I know it was by design.

    Make the AC better!!!

Ditto on what gnathv said, if pressures are good, compressor is working. Did you change out the orifice tube? They tend to clog up over time and prevent the A/C from working at an optimum level. You should replace them when doing a a/c service. Is your condenser clean? You might want...
