    Chip swap?

My thought, too. I was hoping they'd be interested in selling one of the 200 unchipped trucks they are desperate to move!

    Chip swap?

Is it not possible? I figured I'd get at least a "nope, impossible" response. If I AM in the wrong place, let me know, I'm a humble guy, I'll move it!

    Chip swap?

My maintenance truck is down, blown engine. 2014 F250 6.7l powerstroke. At almost $25,000 for a new complete engine installed (per the stealership), I'm planning on just buying a new truck but they have no "chips" for the new ones. Would it be possible to remove the "chip" from the 2014 and...

    Automatic to manual swap

Thanks for the input y'all! @aggiediese01, I have had the C6 out before and never noticed a spacer, I'll be looking for that, though. Fortunately I have both engines and all their parts so after 10-12 years of this -addiction, I mean hobby I am comfortable monkeying around! @IDIBRONCO: Do I...

    Automatic to manual swap

Well, I can't figure out how to edit this post, it seems to only allow editing the title, so I'll add on by replying to myself! I have both blocks (the manual AND the auto, I need the van motor in the truck and it has a brand new, rebuilt T19 from Southern Gear in Atl, along with a brand new Luk...

    Automatic to manual swap

I have an 87 6.9l w/ a C6 (from an E350). I want to put it in an 87 F350 but the F350 has the T19 manual. I have a new truck oil cooler and truck exhaust manifolds for the van engine swap, what I need to know is will the manual bellhousing just bolt right to the block or is there something I...

    Crankshaft needed for 87 6.9l

Sorry, I had been called out of town and had no internet access. Yeah, the crank had been in my shop this past winter during the Thanksgiving holiday and, while we were gone, a bad storm knocked a large branch down onto the roof, the hole was right above the bench and the crank got so rusted it...

    Crankshaft needed for 87 6.9l

I was hoping that was correct, I appreciate your quick response. This was the article that popped up https://www.thedieselstop.com/threads/will-a-7-3l-idi-crank-fit-a-6-9.102515/ I've only had 6.9's so I wasn't sure.

    6.9l IDI Crankshaft

Hey y'all, I need a crankshaft from a 6.9l, hopefully someone in Georgia has one for sale. Preferably within a reasonable driving distance from Athens GA.

    Crankshaft needed for 87 6.9l

Hi all, I live in Athens GA and am hoping someone has a 6.9l crank for sale. Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, I don't use the forum as much as I should! Please contact me via email if you have one available

Like an idiot, posted in the wrong spot (I think)

Phillip, I apologize for not thanking you sooner, we had all the children (7) and their spouses and grandchildren (48!) over the holidays! I have been busy in my woodshop building furniture and toys and making memories that will echo through eternity once I hang up my hat and "head home"! ;)...

Like an idiot, posted in the wrong spot (I think)

Forgive me if I'm in the wrong spot but 7 kids, cold weather and no heat is an emergency to me! I'm replacing my blower motor and resistor in my 87 E-350 Club Wagon, 6.9l IDI, factory A/C with rear heat/AC. I get where the 4 wire plug goes (on the resistor) but the old connector from the Ylw/Rd...

Connecting 12v power to blower motor/resistor

Hey y'all, replacing my blower motor and resistor in my 87 E-350 Club Wagon, 6.9l IDI, factory A/C with rear heat/AC. I get where the 4 wire plug goes (on the resistor) but the old connector from the Ylw/Rd wire melted and I'm not sure how it connects. It appears to connect (in the only diagram...

    E350 front door removal/replacement

Guys, anyone have experience/tips/suggestions on this topic? I have an 87 van with power windows, can't find a power replacement door locally but have been given a manual door free from a buddy. I want to swap them out and wonder, since there seems to be a dearth of info on the subject, if y'all...

    Engine swap

Snicklas, Gold Mine! While I have been wrenching on these for quite awhile, the older I get, the more I forget! Thank you so much for your detailed posts, I'll be getting this underway shortly and I have the guys here at oilburners to thank for their great advice and info!

    Engine swap

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to." And, you, Gandalf, have arrived precisely when I needed you! I forgot about the oil cooler, good catch. My main worry was whether or not the T-19 bellhousing and trans (both in great shape, still in the truck)...

    Engine swap

And, please forgive my bad manners, DaveBen, for not thanking you immediately for such a quick reply, my mother, God rest her soul, would have slapped me silly for such a social faux pas!

    Engine swap

Ok, so the manual trans/bellhousing will bolt right on to the van engine without changing the cast iron piece that holds the starter from the truck block to the van block, those "adapter plates" go either way, manual or auto?

    Engine swap

Hey guys, I picked up another 87 F350, crew cab, 2wd with a 6.9l and a T19 behind it. Motor is shot (I will be rebuilding it at some point). My question: I have a good 87 E350 van engine with a C6 behind it. Can I just drop the good van engine in the F350 and install the bellhousing, clutch and...

    HEATER CONTROL VALVE POSITION

Yup, my thoughts as well. They have functioned reasonably well ie, heat when I need it, none when I don't. Figure since I just put a new pump, injectors and lines on I might as well replace all the hoses as well. Pulled them off, started looking at the ugly, greasy metal pipes that feed the rear...

    HEATER CONTROL VALVE POSITION

I just looked at that link, that is what i have that runs my rear heat, I have the big, clunky plastic ones up front, that is why I was hoping to be able to put 'em in the lines instead of jammed into the (non-exsistant) space between the metal lines and the heater core!

    HEATER CONTROL VALVE POSITION

Ahhh.....the info I was hoping to hear! Man, this place is great! Kinda like a cool bar with great music and cold beer, inhabited by IDI fans! Much thanks to y'all! :Thumbs Up :music:

    HEATER CONTROL VALVE POSITION

Thanks Cubey! So upon zooming in to your second picture, it appears the valve is in the rubber heater hose between the block and your heater core (I think). Do you have rear heat/ac in your ride? I have two metal pipes that run from near the heater core, across the top of the engine bay and then...
