gandalf van is still up for grabs, Facebook isn’t allowing the ad to verify for some reason.
Here’s the craigslist ad

All the hard work is done on this van and I’m moving out of state so this thing is on the chopping block.
Here’s a link to the thread on all the work done on it...
Think I’ve narrowed down some of my fuel issues guys.
I systematically checked the fuel pressure with the pump on first. What I found out was that the pump would prime and hold pressure everywhere before the IP at around 7 psi. As I worked my way back the pressure really didn’t change.
So...
Was able to do some diagnosis today,
I still can’t find out why I don’t have fuel pressure. I’m starting to think my facet pump took a shit or can’t handle the motor. The first test I did after I resealed everything was:
I took a line from a gas can to the pump and with the pump priming I...
aggiediesel01 / genscripter I was able to clean the tanks before I did all my lines. My next step was to reseal my manifold and then pull fuel from a bucket to check and see where the leak/air was getting in.
genscripter do you have timing tools by chance?

Little update for you guys,
I had a pretty eventful day with the van today. I was able to take the van on the maiden voyage today and start to do some shake down. I started flushing my cooling system at the same time. I got the system filled with distilled water and went to leave, threw it in...
IDI GODS WERE GOOD TO ME! I got oil pressure!
I lucked out today and was able to prime my motor in the van and adverted having to pull the pan because I thought it was pump pressure.
I wanted to check and see if my pressure relief valve was stuck closed also and this test seemed to work for...
genscripter as always, you’re the man. I appreciate it.
Mentally in my mind, I think dropping the pan in the bay can be done (or my mind telling me I want it to work). It actually being done is a different story.
As of right now I have my IP on my motor and nothing else is really hooked up...
Also was reading this:
http://diezelcrazeesidipage.homestead.com/oilregulatingvalve1.html
So my thought is to check the oil pressure regulator valve in the rear header first. If it isn’t stuck open (this valve helps regulate oil pressure and dumps the excess back in the pan.) then I’ll work my...
Thanks man, yeah I was thinking either extending it with soft line, I didn’t want do it yet because I’m trying to clean up what under the hood space I have once everything is on. Mainly trying to get it running and home because I’ve been building it at my dads and he’s not a fan of the amount of...
Alright so still haven’t figured out the oil pressure issue yet, gonna let it simmer for a bit and try to solve it next week. Going to try to pump some oil through the cooler and turn the motor backwards then try it. If that doesn’t work going to pull the pan and check the pump and feed gasket...
Worked on the van a little bit today, still no oil pressure.
Is there anyway to prime the oil system with the motor in the van? Perhaps back feeding the pump since it’s dry. I was going to try rotating the motor the opposite way a couple times. Maybe try pumping oil into the oil cooler from one...
DaveBen
I filled it up but I’ll double check it.
IDIBRONCO
Yeah a little late, I thought to do this right after I dropped them motor in and realized it was too late.
Gonna check my gauge, pull the sender unit at the back of the block and put my valve covers later on today so I visually...
I do have some questions for you guys.
First is, I tried to build oil pressure in the motor since it was pretty much bone dry when I put it in. I have a mechanical pressure gauge setup at the back of the motor where the stock one usually is. I cranked it over for a good 5 mins at 30 second...
Made some head way this past week.
Wired up my fuel pump
Made new ground battery cables
Built my glow plug harness with the 6.0 connectors
Did my injector return lines
Got driveshaft, tranny and motor all torque’d
Went through all the stuff in the back of the van (parts storage) and...
Thanks man!
I actually got the idea for the bleed junction from your site. I’m the dude that bought that EM off you last month. Thanks for doing it first so I didn’t have to figure it out. Can’t wait to get it running. Hoping by the end of the month.

Been a little bit so I thought I’d give more updates. Been using this time to my advantage and got a bunch done on the van this month. A lot of steps forward a couple back but getting really close to putting the motor back in.
Had two sets of heads that I took into the machine shop to get...
Update: sent the heads to the machine shop to get inspected/worked on. Got all my gaskets and seals yesterday, along with my studs. Was bored today and ended up painting and cleaning engine parts. Tomorrow going to install my front and rear crank seals into there homes, check the timing on my...
Thanks man, this quarantine is a perfect time so I’m trying to take advantage of it. There’s a pretty low mileage one out here in LA on Craigslist for $3500. It’s been up for about a month. Pretty clean.

I can grab a picture in the next day or two. It defiantly looks like the bulk of the sludge it’s above the valve and springs, more around the push rod holes.

Alright, so I got the old motor out. Stripped it down to the block so I could save any good usable parts from it (water pump/oil pump/etc). I was also able to open up the new (to me) motor I got last weekend. Everything looked pretty good inside. Cylinders looked nice, nothing crazy alarming...
