The turbo bearings are a brass bearing, possibly the gold/brass you see. Lack of oil could cause the noise and turbo to sieze. I'd pull the intake and see if you can spin the turbo shaft.
I ordered this and the motor mounts. I had placed radiator hoses in the cart and was going to get charged separate shipping for the hoses and the mounts. You are correct, approximately $25 in shipping in two separate orders. I removed the radiator hoses from the cart and it brought it down to...
The boost gauge you listed is way to high boost. I have the 20 psi one. If you are running stock, 6 psi or so would only be a tiny blip on the 60 psi one, even 10-15 psi isn't much sweep at all.
I don't have the glowshift pyro, but have the other 3. They work well for 6 months so far.
I called every listed diesel parts store listed searching Google. Called jegs, summit, classic diesel and posted on Facebook groups. I promise, if Google search was the answer, I wouldn't be posting an in search of here.
ARP isn't supposed to switch their tooling over to possibly start in...
I had issues with my magnetic pickup not reading on my tech time unit. There was some gunk in the tube on the dampener. I used brake kleen and a 5/16 drill bit. Put the bit into the tube and turn by hand.
I also marked my magnetic pickup depth from the outside of the tube. It was stopping...
I did do similar to this initially. I kept the NA oil sender on the back. I brought a stainless flexible line from the oil galley plug. I used a brass T mounted to the fender liner by the coolant overflow. I ran the aftermarket sender off this T and then another section of flexible line to...
I was going to something similar with an extension for an aftermarket oil pressure sensor. I was advised to not use brass, but rather stainless because of the vibration. I did for a while, but I was really concerned with the vibration and I kept thinking about it while driving. I didn't want...
This is the driver side of a bare block. The red circles are the oil galley plugs. The flat flange between the second and third is the rear oil cooler head mount. The two downward cylinders on either side of the first (from left) red circle are the lower engine mount bolt bosses. You can see...
Mine is seeping in the same spots in both heads. I pulled all the accessories and checked/redid the thermostat gasket. Of course, mine hasn't ever had the head gaskets done. I've traced the leak location to the rectangular shaped coolant passage. Doesn't help much in your situation though...
The sensors work by resistance on the same line wire as each other. So interestingly my engine idiot light still comes on when the dummy gauge reads warm and my aftermarket gets above 220. I don't have the idiot light sensor installed at all and removed it's wire when I redid and rerouted my...
Sensor in the first pic is the idiot light. I have an aftermarket gauge digital installed there. 2nd pic sensor is the factory temp sensor. It's back on the block behind the thick black hose. You can also see where my head gasket is seeping coolant. 3rd pic shows the factory temp sensor plug...
I purchased a 30 inch oil feed line and the appropriate -4 an fittings. One for the block oil feed and one for the turbo feed block. I used a 45 degree fitting on the block riser. It will be either 1/8 npt for a NA block or 1/4 npt for a turbo block. The turbo oil manifold I'd either 1/8 or...
It is a very good tool to have as our trucks get older. Less and less places have a clue on how to time our trucks. Especially if they cannot plug it into a computer.
I don't know about international shipping, but there are 2 on eBay. It also list it as being the same on a BW1370, and BW4401. Lists part number as # E7TZ-7177A...
Mine is a turbo, but on the highway 2.5k rpms plus is lower temps than pulling a hill at lower rpms. I tried one day to feel the limits, I got the egt to 1000 degrees up a small hill in 5th gear on the interstate. Yesterday I pulled our gooseneck trailer up 1500 ft of elevation with rpms at...
I cannot help with the other questions, but mine has a similar light knock sound. Like a light tap sound. I can hear it from the driver side block near the bell housing, occasionally inside the cab if I listen hard. From the front at certain angles within 6 ft of the truck when squatting...
I ran into the same issue. Took a bit to figure out that there is a ground strap on the back of the passenger head. It was hitting my up pipe and causing the studs to not align with the pedestal, leaving about 1/8 gap on the left side. I spent about an hour trying to figure out what I had...
O rings are cheap and not hard to do. Especially if you don't change them out and lose all the r134 and have to redo it. Mine were certainly not pickled, they were dry and crunchy.
I'm a believer in fixing it right the first time instead of wasting twice the time, plus extra money, even if...
I use mine as a backup to the digital gauge. The turbo oil feed comes off the main port beside the drivers manifold down pipe. My digital is the feed slightly in front of the oil cooler header. So the if the digital reads and the stock sensor reads after the turbo feed, I have oil to the...
