    Vw Tdi

I am aware of this procedure, but it doesn't actually cut the EGR off, just decreases the EGR activity, and it also only delays the intake clogging. Also, the side effect is more NOx output, but I won't get into my opinion on NOx regulations here, that's a topic for another thread. :D

    Oil

Castrol TXT if you get it from the dealer. Otherwise, check out TDIParts and World Impex. They sell oil.

    Vw Tdi

First of all, you can get the timing belt+tensioner+rollers+water pump retrofitted with the 2003 parts (assuming you have a 1998-2002 New Beetle or 1999.5-2002 Golf or Jetta). And, the parts that you need to buy are the exact same as what you'd buy to do a timing belt on a 2003, and you do the...

    I've found a 00 jetta price????

Lost power in #3... did the timing belt break, by any chance? Interval on a 2000 with the stock timing belt components (they can be retrofitted with the 2003 100,000 mile components) is 60,000 for manual, 40,000 for auto. #2 and #3 are the first to interfere, IIRC, when the timing belt...

    SES confusion...

Turbo Wastegate Solenoid diagnosis? The truck in question, a 1995 Silverado 6.5TD (my dad's truck), has the SES light come on under steady state driving. Acceleration or deceleration turns it off. I then proceeded to try the paperclip trick from here (Google FTW)...

    Ranger diesel conversion?

I posted this over on TDIClub, but I'll post it here as well. We've got a 1990 Ford Ranger 2.9 V6, 2WD, auto trans that may need a new engine. If so, we may well build the truck we wanted in the first place. :D I believe that the auto trans is best kept, because a manual conversion is...

    Audi wins Le Mans!

Yes, I searched first. ;) First and third. I just want the tranny that can be rebuilt in nine minutes. (In the car that won.) LOL http://www.speedarena.com/news/publish/sportscar/article_6973.shtml is a real article on it.

No '07 VW TDIs to be sold in America

I just want to know who thinks that requiring that cars meet an emission standard, and then not requiring the fuel that is required to meet that standard, is a good idea. -cuss The American public seems to be lapping the TDIs up even with the "diesels are stinky and noisy" stereotype... 40%...
