thanks all!
Went with a set of Auto Meter Cobalt digital EGT, Oil Pressure, and Water Temp gauges. I'll run these for now since the plan is to do a ZF-5 swap at some point.
Not planning on much towing at all. Mainly used as a hunting truck. I might tow my Isuzu Trooper twice a year (if it ran and if I had a trailer).
Thinking I’ll just go with oil pressure for now and add the trans temp later if I fell the need.
Thanks!

Sorry to bring up an old thread....
I'm going to try and put in a triple gauge pod in my 86'....will be doing the pyro and water temp. Was looking for suggestions on oil pressure vs trans temp (I've got the C6).
Thanks in advanced
Like the title says, I'v looking for a VCV for the 6.9IDI. The teat for the transmission broke off, I tried to glue it back but it's not holding. Transmission won't shift out of 1st gear. If anyone's got a lead or a parts engine that would be fantastic.
Also mine only had one screw holding it...
Truck has not run on rear tank. After the install of the rear tank is when I figured out fuel lines were plumbed straight into the midship tank

Looking for some suggestions. Just replaced the IP and injectors with new return lines, olives etc. (thanks Mel and Russ).
When I bought the truck it was running off of one fuel tank plumbed directly into the midship tank. Recently installed 38gal rear tank and re-plumbed all lines through the...
DT360 would be interesting......but I vote Cummins swap for aftermarket support and parts availability down the road.
Of course being different and building an IDI is a nice idea.
Welp I've been vague and not helpful, my work here is done.
Just finished the install of a 38 gallon rear tank. PO cut off the filler neck so it's long gone. Wanted to update the midship tank while I was at it.
No diesels to be found at the JY and Facebook marketplace hasn't turned up anything useful.
Thanks
Looking for a 7.3 IDI fuel filter head so I can swap it onto my 6.9.
I found a couple local-ish but was wondering what is the going rate for a used filter head?
My brother just got a 2015 Passat and loves it. 40+ MPG got all the bells and whistles..leather, heated seats, etc.
I think he paid about $10,000 for it with 50,000 miles.
Very ambitious indeed! Nice score for $400 bucks...around here that would get you a piece of Swiss cheese on 4 balled tires claiming "it ran when I parked it"
Good luck with the swap, that Bronco will be sweet when you finish it up.
Hello everyone!
I just picked up my first diesel. It is an 86 F250 4x4 with a 6.9 IDI non-turbo. I bought it to get me around in the winter and haul my ATV. Always wanted a diesel and I love the Bullnose trucks. Found this one in my price range and as far as I can tell doesn't need much...
