    I added 2 quarts of oil today. Seems i'm getting lots of oil past the CDR based on the puddle in the intake tube. Anyone had any luck with the chinesium CDR valves? I'm sure OEM is better, but at 1/6 the cost, I'm seriously considering it.

    Yep. I looked into this quite extensively a couple years ago. The legal GCWR is too low since our diesels were gutless from the factory. If you legally could tow what the truck is truly capable of it would be a different story.

    Did some more wastegate tuning. Shortened the actuator rod as short as it'll go, and still only got between 11 and 12 PSI, so I I added the assistance of a spring from a lawnmower governor. This got me up to 13ish PSI and I think i'll call that good for now until I see how it runs with a load...

    The high idle temp sensor is bypassed in my truck, so I put the high idle on a toggle. Great for longer idling or battery charging here when it’s -50. Starts WAY easier than without.

    I had a gel up here in MN last week. The 911 saved my bacon and have been using Howes since with no issues. I'm not partial to either PS or howes, but Howes is usually a bit cheaper around here.

    new kicks! 295/75/16 Yokohama GO15s on stock ride height '88 250. I had to trim the side steps a bit as they rubbed, but they clear the stock bumper and fender.

    PSA for those of you looking at all-aluminum radiators: steer clear of Cold Case. The model listed for ford trucks is smaller and meant for light duty applications. They do not work for our trucks. Learned that the hard way….

    ALSO: The fast idle solenoid is no good so I pulled the one off my ‘93 parts truck. Turns out, the brackets are slightly different and the ‘93 solenoid won’t push the metering valve forward at all. Oh well, nothing the channel locks couldn’t fix. I now have a nice 1100rpm fast idle.

    I paid $3600 for my rot free ‘88 4x4 zf5 banks turbo. It’s a farm truck, some body damage from a combine incident, leaking oil cooler, power steering leak, needed a new rear brake line. It’s definitely a farm truck though. Hacked wiring, torn up interior, beat up bed, etc.

    Having fun scraping 35 year old gaskets off the oil cooler towers. Been at it for hours… Seems like it’s been torn into before. Red and black o rings. Any tips or advice here? Recommend RTV on both sides of the new gaskets or no?
