Well, it's been a slower project than hoped... I have the 4l60 out. I was actually just getting ready to head to the shop to finish changing the wiring for the new computer controller unit for the 4l80 I have waiting. Finally have some time to myself to do it.
Hit the hamburger menu at the top left corner. If you do not have the app I stalled, you should see "install the app" at the very bottom of your menu. It may actually take a second to appear.
Also: you can't see the install button the the pic here. But if you click on it you'll see it.
The new update has an option to download it as an app. The app really is mobile-centric and works extremely well. Is it the same as tapa? No. Thank goodness.
This is not the only forum of mine that has migrated from Tapa. In Fact this was the last one of mine to do so. I suggest downloading...
Since this project is done, I bought another project... Someone put an Isuzu 4bd1t in a 96 suburban. But it needs a tranny. So I bought it. It drove pretty sweet in 1st and 3rd(when it would shift into it...)
Title says it all.
I just bought this rig. Had convinced the wife to let me buy an imported RHD diesel Mitsubishi Pajero. Then this popped up.
The guy I bought it from had the job done at a diesel shop a couple towns over. And had $15k in receipts for the work. I am impressed after looking it...
My d50-powered Mazda b2600i does this as well, if I leave the front end locked but put TC in 2wd.
I would say your hubs are staying locked. Even in 2wd.

Took it on a 65 mile run for a service call with the new turbo today, up some pretty good hills. I'm calling it. Now I can focus on front end work\alignment. And the tractor.

Got it in.
This td05-10a comes on sooner and pulls harder than my wore out tc05-10a. And fit in just right after re-clocking.

Got the old turbo out. Had to take the cartridge and snail she'll off the hot side due to some stubborn bolts.
Got the new one all clocked and bolted in, but the studs for the pipe flange are fine thread, and the new turbo has coarse thread holes. Trip to Ace to morrow and it should be golden...
Well, I did a bit of research. These motors came with 2 different turbos. The tco5-10a like mine and the td04-09b. The td04 used a wastegate while the tc05(mine) did not.
The td was known to be more responsive, while the tc moves more air.
I learned the tc refers to the cartridge...
Took it out on a service call yesterday up in Welches, on the highway up to mount hood. Pulled solid all the way.
Now it's time for me to learn about turbos...
My motor has a tc05-10a turbo on it. And I have had people laugh when I call and ask about a cartridge or parts.
I'm kinda partial...
There had to be at least 8k in the restoration of this restomod. Before the modification part is even considered. Dang. I would have done suspension\wheels and tires different but...

Update on engine replacement here. Finally calling it done. Motors been in since August. And come back out and back in...
Late to the party but bawls. That thing sold for just $8000?!? There was a boatload of work there. And looked to be done up proper too.
