7.3 IDI possible exhaust leak
I tried today but it was muddy, so I couldn't get under the truck completely. If there is multiple black soot spots, I guess I'll have to change the exhaust completely. If I can't find black soot...what could it be?- Mathieu Gilbert

7.3 IDI possible exhaust leak
Alright guys, I thought it was an injector and when I checked there was only a little ticking coming from the cylinder #7. It is running fine otherwise... I suspect it could be an exhaust leak (manifold maybe?). I also recorded a video of the sound accelerating. The video isn't as clear as what...- Mathieu Gilbert

Knocking sound from a 7.3 idi with a turbo
Did you find the problem, because the same thing is happening to me and I am going crazy. Mine is a bit more quiet without engaging the transmission, but when I drive it sounds exactly the same.- Mathieu Gilbert

Engine knock, help!!
Okay, I recently bought the 7.3 idi (because where I live, they don't have taxes because they are old.) Anyway, when I start the engine, it sounds fine.
