Possible torque converter?
My 99 F350 had the torque converter go out and it would drive but you could not stop without taking it out of gear. I was fortunate enough to have an external remote filter that caught the debris before it got back into the pan but it was not before the heat exchanger. I ended up getting another...- probear

Cab sound insulation
Duke, look http://cw-diesel.com/dbwsoundproof.htm and see what I did to my F-350. It did make a difference. I have not check into the latest materials that B-Quiet offers, but the brown bread did work quite well, especially considering the cost. Most of the spray on stuff was much more, at least...- probear

Injector washer
From what I understand, it stayed in the bore when the injector was removed so I would say it's stuck in the seat....- probear

Injector washer
I've got a friend that has an 85 6.9 and has one injector that the washer is stuck in the injector hole. How can this washer be removed without removing the head? Thanks, probear- probear

Starter problems
I also agree with the silt/finedust being the culprit. I have a 99 with 153K and no starter problems. You might want to check the batteries as weak batteries can also fry a starter......- probear

Won't start 00'F-250
Wish I'd seen this sooner. I went though that almost identical thing a couple of years ago. One bad battery will often suck the power from the other battery. BTW, the voltage should be a little higher that mid 12s. Oh well, guess i need to check in more oftern. :D- probear

Tranny life
Original tranny with 150K, BUT had to replace the TC at 134K. Seems it kinda 'went to pieces', literally. Trans mods are only the sonnex and tricumulator, as to the engine, I have run propane for a while, and also modified injectors, probably arount 350HP. Stock converter was the "marbles...- probear

hehe, let me know or give me a call. PM me at the other place and I'll be glad to discuss it with you. BTW, not only do I like synthetics in car/trucks, I ran them in my Superstar airplane. I don't experiment with $40,000 engines...:D- probear

Out of the numerous people that I know with the BTS, the general feeling is just like Dockboy said. IMO, BTS is the way to go.- probear

Hard starting when cold
I went to Deka and have been very happy with them. IMO, unless Interstate has improved their quality control, they are way over priced. Optima are also overpriced, as is Motorcraft. I would look for a battery with mega cranking amps, and just figure on replacing them every two or three years...- probear
