    Replacement coil springs

I have a '91 F350 Dually, crew cab, 2wd thats all stock. I have the front suspension out replacing pivot and radius arm bushings. I've already replaced tie rods, ball joints, etc. Looks like the only thing left is the coil springs. They aren't broke, but its disassembled and they aren't...

What do y’all pull with your truck?

My 5'er with my 17 foot fishing boat behind that. Just barely under the length limit. It's really too much without a turbo so I rarely pull both right now.

Radiator leak. 90 miles from home with camper a

Follow up: Left camper in Wisconsin. Topped off radiator (consistent drip, drip, drip from where core meets upper tank). Drove home without towing. Stopped at 1/2 way point to top off radiator but it never once got warm. Got home, installed junk yard replacement radiator. Will go get...

Radiator leak. 90 miles from home with camper a

I'm in Prairie Du Chein WI. Pulled up here last night pulling my 6.5k lb fifth wheel. As I pulled in to town the temp rose. I've got a leaking radiator. I can't reach the leak to try JB Weld without pulling the radiator. Is there anything I could try temporary to get home? Im...

New truck, need help with trans issues

Oh hell, they put a LOT of hard parts in it! What'd they keep? Just the case? For the parts they put in, that price is affordable. Someone must have blown the original all to hell and back.

New truck, need help with trans issues

OK, with torque converter, cooler, R&R, and warranty, I guess maybe $2500 isn't too crazy. I may be getting old, but I'd feel better at 1/2 that price. Went and looked, heres a pic of that seal.

New truck, need help with trans issues

Theres a seal in a C6 that engages the forward motion. It's quite easy during assembly to damage this seal if you are not very careful. As you put things back together you have to use like a thin feeler gauge to help the seal go in to its bore without it tearing or folding. I'm not really an...

    adding gauges.....

Transmission temperature - if you have the E4OD, there is a plugged port just above the pan on the drivers side. Unscrew the plug and screw in the sensor. I'm running an electric gauge (Autometer Ultra Lite specifically). Installation under the truck took 5 minutes. Run a wire from sensor up...

    Adding aftermarket temperature gauge

Where have y'all put the sender? Im adding an electric temp gauge and id prefer to leave the factory gauge functional. Should I just put a tee under the factory sender?

    School me on the F-Superduty

All the HD parts make it sound like a great project for pulling my 5th wheel camper. But... once you get to the campsite you also use the tow rig to cruise around so perhaps it wouldn't be ideal.

    School me on the F-Superduty

My truck is an F350 crew cab dually from 1991. Underneath all the sheet metal, what is different on the F Superduty. I believe the F-SD had 10 lug wheels. Do they still use the Sterling rear? Brakes different? I've seen some F-SD's for sale locally with rotted cabs. Would it be...

Is this what I should expect (pulling up grade NA)

Oh, engine light was absolutely due to temperature. I need to install aftermarket gauge and investigate my fan clutch. Does your kit include the transmission dip stick?

Is this what I should expect (pulling up grade NA)

Truck: 1991 crew cab dually 7.3 NA with E4OD Trailer: 5th wheel camper weighs in at about 7,000 loaded Pulling up a 1/2 mile stretch that rises 200 feet - I believe that puts it at a 7% grade. I'm in 2nd gear at 42 ish mph, pedal down around 3k rpm. Engine temps did rise (factory gauge - I...

    Backup lights

First thing that comes to mind is a mini led bar such as: www.amazon.com/Nilight-Driving-3600LM-Single-Lights/dp/B0197ZQLBA I have zero idea if these would fit though. Second thing that comes to mind is mount something INSIDE the bumper. LMC has a rear bumper with lights built in to it. I...

    Marker lights under tailgate

Looks like previous owner bypassed the trailer relay???? The trailer plug is spliced in to the tail lights and the brake controller is an aftermarket add on.

    Marker lights under tailgate

Yup. Marker / tail lights is brown wire in trailer wiring. I'll just tap that wire for all the fender and tailgate lights. Thanks.

    Marker lights under tailgate

1991 F350 Dually Under the tailgate yet above the bumper are three red marker lights. They haven't worked since I've owned the truck. Replaced the lights with some LED markers but there isn't any power to the lights. The rear fender marker lights do not have power either. Without...

    OBS sheet metal. Bricknose truck

Scrap truck is SRW and my truck is DRW. BUT.. I use the sterlings in off road builds so I'll be keeping that.

    OBS sheet metal. Bricknose truck

My truck is a bricknose F350 dually. I'm about to scrap an OBS F250 gasser. I'd like to keep anything that MIGHT be useful in the future. 1. Doors. The doors are really nice. I see the wing windows are different and of course the door panels are different, but the metal door itself. Same...

    Rear axle seal leak

    Wheel simulators

Sweet! Pictures definitely help!! Guess I should keep an eye out for those centers!

    Wheel simulators

I was given a set of wheel simulators (hub caps) that are the correct size for my dually. The factory lug nuts have a heavy washer built in to them. The simulators are just one piece for each wheel. Not sure if there is supposed to be more to it. Do I simply remove the lug nuts, place the...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Finally hooked up the camper AND the boat. I believe I have about 10k lbs hooked to the truck. Doesn't mind one bit. It doesn't accelerate quickly but it cruises at 55 without problem. (NA 7.3 E4OD) I did notice leaving a stop on a slight incline I just pinned the throttle and there is mild...

Do I need to "wait to start"?

First start of the day, of course I need the glow plugs. But after a drive I occasionally hop in and start the truck without thinking. Does it hurt anything if I start the truck while the glow plugs are still energized?
