I just bought truck and was driving home and was running great for about 10 miles and then starting sputtering and isn't getting fuel. It is about 23 degrees and has summer fuel. I took fuel filter off and it blows through fine so it must be from tank? Is there a pickup screen in tank or maybe...
I have a 87 f250 6.9 and I have a oil pressure gage from a farmall M sticking out the back of hood and a mech temp gage from fleet farm. For fuel I just guess and carry a couple full containers.
I have a semi that I removed an injector and quill and reinstalled but now it won't start. I tried about 10 times at 5-10 sec cranking, waiting about a half hr between. Not sure how many times I should keep trying if it will ever come to?

I replaced the right front caliper and it still sticks hard. If I crack the bleeder screw then it releases. Could the problem be the master cylinder or?

It seems to be stuck in 4 low. It shifts fine and took linkage off and shift underneath but it stays in slow speed. I assume I'll have to take transfer case off and take apart since something must have come apart inside?
I found the original piece that was intake. Don't understand why it has an inlet/outlet on both ends. I believe the pick up screen would go on big dia. Which would make it a check valve?
Mine looked like this but the screen and what I thought was a check valve was disinegrated and cracked. I was going to take a picture of mine (but can't remember where I put it because of all-timers) it has like an orange needle I thought was a one way valve. Hopefully my ace outfit will work ok...
I recently bought 3 gallons of shell rotella synthetic 15w-40 on sale for $60. I wanted Chevron or cenex sae 30 but couldn't find it. Unfortantely an oil pressure Gage I Jerry rigged from a tractor started leaking so I lost most of it so I guess it wasn't meant to be. I just refilled it with...
Every ford idi diesel I had (3) had the same problem when it sits a day you start it and it shuts off right away because the fuel drains down. And you have to crank and crank to get it going. Ifinially took my tank off and it's the one way valve at the end of pick up line where it needs to be...
I'm just a fan of trucks being left stock. If it was designed with out a turbo and you put one on its a greater possibility of blowing head gasket and or overheating.
I would check into seeing if the injector pump is timed right and working right and maybe check out injectors. It's a real motor so if you can make it work i would, but I wouldn't put a turbo on it.
Need help getting gauges and tach working on 87 ford idi. How do I find power source? There are no fuses for it. They worked for about an hour one day so cluster must be good.
I bought this truck a year ago without tach and gauges not working. Well the oil and water temp move but don't seem right. And charging gauge is definitely not working but don't care. One day after I changed fuel pump, the tach and the oil and water gauges were working right prabably...
