I just retested it and it still has a problem. I noticed quite a squeal when it tries to go into OD. So I'll drive it home and hope for the best. I have a spare trans. to put in it if it makes it. Thanks for the help.

I drove my 92 E350 van up to Turlock to sell at the auto show, and had no problems. I started towards Manteca to visit a friend and every time it shifted in to OD, it felt like the brakes were activated. I finally made it to Manteca by
locking it out of overdrive. The OD light never flashed...
I got the recall notice for my 1992 E-350 van without cruise control. It said I need the fix even without cruise. It also said to park said vehicle away from any buildings until fix is done.

I've used brake fluid to seal tubless tires where the bead doesn't want to seal. I just brush a little on the bead before mounting the tire. Works good.

The only thing that concerns me is that the buildup only appeared in about half of the cyls. WMO is not cylinder selective so by itself can't be the total problem, unless once the buildup reaches a certain point it burns off by itself. It may take a combination of 2 or more things to cause this...
Low vacuum sensor tripping the brake lite usually means your vacuum pump is going south or you have a vacuum leak. The best test would be to tee a vacuum gauge into the system. Pumping the brakes at idle can cause loss of vacuum.

Was the alternator a direct replacement? I seem to remember one of the leads from the alternator controls the light. Course my memory aint what it used to be.

Another reason to take the southern route is that the fuel is cheaper. Especially in Oklahoma and Missouri. Check the Flying J web site for prices.

What Mel said. I remove the valve core from the shrader valve on the fuel filter housing, run a fuel line from there to the other tank or container, turn on the electric pump and let it run.

Hey Gary, if you want to time it yourself, bring it to Victorville. I've got both a Snap-On and a pulse type timing meter you can use. I'll even help!!! You'll
just have to catch me at home as I'm between Victorville and Lake Isabella.
Let me know.

I've read several posts about using wmo and mixing with diesel fuel. I've been rather stingy with the wmo, using about a gallon to 20 gals. of diesel fuel. I have a rather large quantity of wmo that I'd like to use up but am not sure of the filtering. I currently run a AC TP-1069 as a primary...
The 6.9 that was in my 84 camper van went through a lot of coolant and used a lot of oil before I removed it. Most of the coolant came out of the area near the block heater. It had the dreaded crack by the block heater. It never dripped on the ground. It seeped out from under the starter...
I'd have to agree with Grease Fire. My father rebuilt lots of IP's and he told me when replacing the top cover to always listen for the click in the IP when turning on the ignition. Or if by yourself, turn on the ign. and remove and install the heavy wire on the IP. No click BAD, do not start...
A fellow worker bought a new GTO years ago. It would suddenly lose power without warning. (nice when passing) He had it in the shop many times and they couldn't find the problem. It would only happen every 1,000 miles or so.
Finally at around 36,000 mi. one garage found a shop rag in the gas...
I've been buying most of my filters at www.filterbarn.com , he has fleetguard at less than $10. each. He also sells a lot of diesel stuff on ebay. His seller ID is walleye1000. I've never had a problem and his shipping is reasonable. My

An exhaust leak will usually appear as black soot, same as inside of tailpipe. If it is oily, it came from somewhere else unless engine has big problem.

Read Mel's second sentence again. If you turn the key off and on real fast it could cause the problems you describe. You may be looking for a loose or corroded electrical connection. Problems that come and go are the hardest to find. Good luck.

Here's how not to do it. I was adding an aux. trans. cooler to my 92 van. After the install, I thought it was a nice job. Now for the test drive. It went well for a while and then all of the sudden neutral. I was in the busiest intersection in Victorville by the mall. As I sat there with my 4...
There's no hidden parts inside. The worst that will happen, is you'll lose one of the E clips. Once you remove the large bolt head, the seal is pressed into it. I've been able to replace the seals without removing the IP, but I have small hands. If you can't find a seal, I think I may have...
