Ok. Found it. #5 push rod was not in the hole correctly. Bent it a little. Going to replace and continue on.- Donwan

I finally found out that 2 and 5 reach top at the same time. That’s where it stops. So I started looking at 5 really hard. Noticed that both rocker arms were tight at the same time. Took the rocker arm off and it made a complete turn. Nothing wrong with the push rods. Trying to see better...- Donwan

ok, got heads torqued down. Injectors in. Glow plugs out. Tried to turn crank with wrench. Turned for a little bit and stoped. Reversed it and it stopped. Noticed that #2 ( drivers side towards front of truck ). piston did a complete up and down but didn’t rotate all the way to the top...- Donwan

I had already ordered a bunch of stuff from sinister before I started posting. I ordered their oil pump, head gaskets, egr, coolant filter,apr bolts,icp sensor then after posting here I ordered the bulletproof items; engine oil cooler, stand pipes and dummy plug kit, fuel pressure upgrade...- Donwan

Iam so lost with the fuel pressure gauge stuff. I Clicked on the links, but I don't know what goes with what. I am looking for cheap as possible fuel sensor with out getting some china junk. Can I get all this at one place? You said I needed ---7 Bar (100 PSI) Fuel/oil Pressure Sender, 1/8...- Donwan

Never mind. I see where they go. Not sure about the markings though Kinda confused on this. Trying to get my heads back on. There was a tube I pulled off the bottom of the head between the block and head, when lifting the head off. I assume it’s the stand tube (shown on oil rails in pic)...- Donwan

Thank you! Eager to start on this thing. Even though I know it will be a headache. Should get heads back tomorrow. Got 8 new injectors already. Shipment of gaskets head bolts, egr, coming tomorrow so should be busy this weekend. Rest of it coming Tuesday. So hopefully By next weekend I...- Donwan

2004 with the square egr. Started to be hard to start. Rough idle and no power till it warmed up. Had to plug it in everyday just to get it to start semi-normal. Even letting it sit at job for 8 hours would make it hard to start. I constantly checked coolant level. It did use some but...- Donwan

Great advice. Thanks. I actually had the air cooled unit in my cart. Then cringed at the cost. May re think that because I really don’t want to do this again. I CAN afford the upgrades. I just don’t WANT to. But the truck has 120k miles and I intend to keep it till the wheels fall off...- Donwan
