Well update is its back on minus 1 long bolt and had a machinest friend of mine make me a bolt for that. The bolts that hold the brackets on are 3/8-16 the size i used with whst boldlts were existing was 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 now what i did discover unless someone tapped them again the 4 bolts that...
so finally got a chance to mess with the 89, i found one long bolt only threaded into one head bolt hole.
i did find the bracket was not correctly on due to only 1 bolt out of the 3 existing. Also those 3 in the head bolts are 3/8-16 bolts.. now we measure, hunt and fix..
sorry i been MIA...
so still looking and today i found this diagram... i am guessing those are part numbers not sure what the letters etc in parenthesis is ( )???? maybe a updated #, still looking have had issue with the 96 so that had to be taken care of.. im begining to think a set of mules and a wagon would be...
Found the issue at least seemed to be.. the fuel bowl heater shorting out, snipped that wire and fixed it to where it cannot arc.. in the morning we do another cold start test and see if the truck starts or will remain running..
Earlier i did more thinking and looked at what that fuse powered and i saw that on the heater.
After searching i had found your ppst and many many more. I spend i dunno hoe long trying to.get that @$%% plug off the heater, how in the heck?, i am at the point to just cut the damn wire and tape...

thanks a bunch.. on your 2nd pic i am missing the really long bolt, i can get those of ebay.. i picked up some 2" 3/8-16 bolts at tractor and a pack of 1" as well.. hopefully the 2" fit where the bolts thread into the Block..
Thank you Jesus Freak, helps alot...
thanks.. in that 1st pic ifi you zoom in you can see the freeze plug and right below that you can see the bolt hole for the bolt and its way off, everything else lines up the best i can tell, without bolts its difficult..
Thanks Jesus freak
Finally able to get the A/C compressor off and look at the brackets better, im pretty sure this bracket does not go on this 7.3.
I have one bolt hole in the bracket that does not line up with the hole in the block.. i took more pics.
Does anyone know if 6.9 brackets are different or i may be...
Well after some digging and looking and some advice from the fb group, looks like 3/8 and 7/16 with a 16 pitch but after further inspection i beleive the wrong bracket may be on my truck. Took some picks as it sits one hole does not line up with the block hole and i am missing several, good...
yeah while under that thing it didn't appear to have a spare tire hanger so it made me wonder usually those don't last very long... very good possibility all i need is to scrap the shield and have new straps.. I used a spectra tank on my 89 IDI it was 38 gallon tank got rid of mid tank on the 89...
Instead of starting a new post..
