Excellent write up! I like they way you took it apart and showed the internals. I'm running one in my 96 stroke that I rear axle swapped with an 09 10.5. But I never actually took mine apart to see how it worked. I also just have mine wired to a relay and switch. Side note I payed $400 for a...
I'm running my first batch made with xylene now. Only have about 50 kms on the truck since I filled up the back tank this morning. Used about 10 litres to 205 litre drum of wmo. Not to sure on that ratio just yet as it did have about 20 litres of old diesel in it as well from a tractor I was...
Hey guys has anyone used xylene for thinning their wmo instead of rug? I can get my hands on a very large amount for free. Its a pretty heavy duty solvent, so i'm wondering how it might affect overall engine components.
just looked at these, not sure if they are going to have the PSI required.
A stock super duty 7.3 pump runs at around 40PSI.
I think this is what I'm going to try next
I have the Irate diesel electric fuel set up on my 96 stroke. It uses the Walbro GSL392 pump, in the 2.5 years I've had it I've gone through 4 pumps. Some were running straight diesel and some on wmo. I'm in the process of trying to find something better. I'll check out the ones mentioned above.
Ok guys and gals, I have a 1996 F350 ccsb with a 7.3.
Rear fuel tank always reads way pass full does move until I switch tanks then it reads as it should
Tried a spare sending no dice. I verified that it worked by checking it before I pulled from donor truck
Any one have a wiring diagram for the...
On another note I don't know how to check for this but it seems a lot of trucks of this year the speedo rolls back at 400,000 kms. Back to 300,000. It happened in my truck and to at least 2 other guys I know personally. Not sure if any of you Yankees have had that happen to you.
First thing is the price is way to high. In Canada a fully loaded cclb psd cost a little over $35g brand new in 1996. That's in Canadian dollars. If you are serious about a psd here are the things you need to look at and know about them
As Greenkeeper was saying, oil pan make sure it's not...
Pulling the motor is not too bad of a job. I did mine in a gravel driveway at -10. It was my first time so it took me a little while. Ford book time on the job is 15 hrs. Take your time and make sure you clean the pan really well and the block. I had no way of flipping my motor over so I let it...
I went with a racor filter and water separator with a 200 watt heated bowl. Found it on eBay for a half decent price. Going to do my efuel at the same time when it arrives.
I have been running wmo in my 96 powerstroke for some time ( approximately 30,000 kms). I have had no problems except when the temp drops. My question is does anyone run any kind of fuel heater? If so what kind? I have been doing some research and so far I'm leaning toward Racor filter and water...
I know they came factory with them, lol. Was just wondering if there were any differences between the two?
Thanks for the info on the oil cooler and manifolds.
Has anyone swapped a 7.3 idi into a van? If so is there anything that will cause me any problems? I figure it should be pretty straight forward. I have the complete donor truck.
I'm running a little 55gph unit from pa bio diesel and it works well. It does recirculate and takes multiple passes to get my oil clean. I would like to buy one of there gravity fed units when funds allow.
I'm just about finished my first batch. The oil I had was very dirty. Was cleaning my CF every 30mins to start. Last go around left it for 6 hrs, but it's still pulling crap out. Hopefully it will be done tomorrow.
