My 1991 f250 7.3 idi and the issue is that my truck won’t charge unless I jump power to the field wire. After that it charges fine. I do have a broken ground cable and I have replaced my entire charging system.
Hey everyone I have a 1991 F250 7.3 idi and the charging system has been nothing but trouble since day one. I want to swap it to an internally regulated 3g alternator. I just need to know what alternator to buy and what I need to change/splice to make it work.
So I’ve got a 1991 f-250 4X4 with an IDI and an AOD 4-speed. I’ve been looking to swap the old Twin traction beam(twin I beam) out for a Dana 60 out of an f-350. I don’t think I would need a trac bar because I have leaf springs to keep my axle centered. But out side of that what do I need?
