New idi in Central Tx
Beautiful truck man, I like it! I have an 86' with the 6.9l and love it. Mine has an air intrusion as well, but I just went ahead and installed an electric fuel pump and it fires up immediately. (I know I should fix the air intrusion, but 3 years later I still haven't got around to it, lol)...- Jasonmusic220

I have a bullnose and Group 31's dropped right in. I also installed those along with an electric fuel pump and the truck fires up before you can let off the key. I love it.- Jasonmusic220

Defrost only, no vents or floor
Yeah mine was stuck in defrost as well. I pulled the A/C Heater Control Switch out from under the dash and one of the prongs was dry rotted and broke. Everything looked fine, but the one broke prong caused enough leak to where no vent controls would work. Hopefully you get everything fixed up!- Jasonmusic220

Tire blowout! new tire and rim recommendation for heavy load
For me personally, it has to be name brand and load range E. I know some folks haven't had problems with them, but I will not trust any foreign tires. Everyone for me has either gone 'out of round' or blown out completely, long before the tread wears out. Also there are different load ratings...- Jasonmusic220

I've had this setup for about two years now. You definitely have to plan ahead as far as loads in the bed and fuel stops go, but it hasn't been an issue at all so far.- Jasonmusic220

Yeah I ended up going through the bed. It wasn't my first choice, but I really didn't like having to drive up a ramp to fill up every time, lol. When I bought the truck my wife made it clear she would never ride with me if I ever had to stop and fill it, haha!- Jasonmusic220

I might have to take you up on the timing meter one day. Truck runs good, but listening to the last owner talk about the mistakes the mechanic shop made putting in the reman engine has always made me wonder if everything is right, lol.- Jasonmusic220

I built one for my Super Duty and was pretty surprised how easy it was. And they make great steps for working under the hood. Fuel filler neck woes need ideas
Both my of my Super Duty's were like that; it was nice to fill them up in about a minute flat, lol. I watched the pump as it was filling and it was pushing one gallon per every 3 seconds. If I tried that with my 86 i'd have 2.9 gallons of diesel spilling on the concrete every second, lol!- Jasonmusic220

Not to change the subject, but does your 94 have the 'wide mouth' filler neck? I discovered not to long ago that truck stop type fuel handles won't fit in my 86. (Trying to hold back a high flow diesel pump form wanting to go wide open can be quite the task, lol) I was just trying to figure out...- Jasonmusic220

I'm not sure how close the properties are, but the guy I bought my truck from was using aluminized exhaust pipe to extend the filler neck to the side of the flatbed. It was his daily driver for 4 years and when I removed them they still looked in great condition. Nothing was eaten away or looked...- Jasonmusic220
