    FS: Clean '85 F250 on CL $8k

So I have a real problem...I am sort of addicted to idi's. It doesn't make sense, they are slow, loud, and old hehe. I just love how simple and tough they are. I had my van which I sold about two years ago and have been missing the idi world since. I almost bought a very clean powerstroke (97...

    FS: Van with "VARGAS" Turbo

Thought you all may be interested in this one. There's a sticker on the side that looks like "IARGAS" turbo, but I believe it is "VARGAS" Turbo. Never heard of them myself, I think this is them: http://www.vargasturbo.com/diesel-info.html Obviously, cant see it from the engine bay because...

    What’s something like this worth?

bought my 1994 IDIT for $750, had broken vac pump and cracked exhaust manifold but cylinders were in good condition...runs fine, leaks just about as much oil as any other old diesel.

    where do they go?

What about cold idle temp sensor on the block and the cold idle solenoid on the IP? If not those whats your fuel filter wiring look like, factory?

    Old vs. new PS pump

If he had v-belt and alt. bearing seized, then he wouldn't be able to spin the vac. pump too, unless he didn't have A/C and had the larger v-belt for the PS and vac - he might've made it to work but with manual brakes it would've been a helluva ride!

Help! Broke down in Jacksonville Fl. need a water pump and some one to install it

Best coolant is probably what the factory recommended which is Motorcraft gold, I believe, with SCAs. People use all different types of coolant, including ELC like Zerex. Some here will recommend against that. I think the best advice is to go with a low-silica concentrate, dilute 50/50 with...

    Old vs. new PS pump

Thanks guys. And here I thought I lucked out yesterday when I noticed the old PS pump had a threaded adapter on it as well. I took that off the old pump and it threaded into the new pump (after compressing the internal spring plate). The adapter from the old pump did have a o-ring that seemed...

    Old vs. new PS pump

Dear IDI'ers, I'm swapping a 94 F350 IDIT into a 88 E350. The PS pumps are different, and the newer motor is a serp. belt system. I was going to move the serp. pulley over to the old pump - as I have the correct PS lines for that pump and their length is for the '88 chassis. Unfortunately...

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

Y'all are too good! Thanks for the support - I actually already purchased cpdenton's flexplate. I have the torque spreader metal washer thing-a-ma-jig. I'm assuming red loctite is ok for the bolt sealant...I doubt blue loctite would be enough. Maybe even some RTV on the threads?

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

You're right, on second look it doesn't specify anyone for the turbo motor. I must've assumed since it listed 1994 it was for the turbo...I forget there was the option to get a non-turbo IDI, as well as the turbo, and the new powerstroke that year. Thanks for checking out that ebay link for me...

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

Well.....this just got more complicated. I wish the ATP site didn't list the turbo IDI as an application then for that flexplate. Yes, I have a factory turbo block. Verified with the block code. How about this ebay find...

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

Hi FORDF250HDXLT, yes that is the flexplate I intend on using. Even with the added weight of the factory spacer/reinforcement ring with the new flexplate - it is noticeably lighter than the NA C6 flexplate. This is what through me off since I was expecting the IDIT flexplate to be more...

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

Wow! You guys are on your game! Thanks cpdenton. The idit supplement manual has the spacer ring after the flexplate...you're saying I should actually use it as a spacer and put it in between crank plate and flexplate?

    C6 flexplate vs 94 IDIT

Hi all, I'm swapping a 94 IDIT into a 88 E350 N/A IDI. I'm keeping the C6 in there now. I bought a flexplate for the IDIT instead of using the C6 flexplate because I read the IDIT flexplate was built heavier to compensate for the turbo-engine rotating mass. When I removed the old engine and...

    94 IDIT into 88 E350

Thanks again IDIBronco! Compressionignition, I'm pretty sure the turbo would fit. You're correct, downpipe is the issue. When I have more time I plan on getting R&D's intake and having some exhaust manifolds fabricated. But right now, I'm supposed to move in a month and I need my van running to...

    94 IDIT into 88 E350

Thanks. I was more wondering if it is possible to turn down the turbo IP to compensate for the lack of turbo without having excess fuel issues.

    94 IDIT into 88 E350

Hi all, Just as the title says '94 IDIT into '88 N/A IDI e350. From what I read need to run it N/A as turbo wont fit. I have my working N/A IP and injectors. Since I will have less air I'm sure I'll need to dial back the fuel. Is the turbo IP and injectors capable of being turned down via...
