    Rebuilding a 7.3 IDI Turbo

That would be correct about the 100 grit, 30 plus years ago, a friend worked for Clark equip, he told me NOT to try and get a real smooth surface while I was decking some Mopar heads for a friend, Clark had a surface finish requirement for heads and blocks it was fairly rough, it helps the head...

    Replacing suspension

Had to cut bolt's on front spring rear mount, pics are of a leaf spring front end with Dana 60 axle, shocks bolt right up, not rear. Try tire rack also for Bilsteins, they have good prices on them last I knew. This is the proper way, Bilstein use the labels for orientation, Bilsteins for my VW...

Hot hot should my e4od run?

According to Hayden coolers website 180 is a good operating temperature, cooler thick fluid doesn't lubricate or flow as well, most oil thermostats work in that range also, going to put there 696 cooler in my 72 Olds 88 (TH400)

    Diff covers.

Aeriation is a vital but overlooked property of oil, always creates heat if too much, in hydraulic usage it becomes critical. Small ribbing inside of cover will help heat transfer also, surface area increase, could affect oil path positively also, examine/study air/oil cooled engines.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Putting this truck back together, ft. trans seal went out, found flex plate was trashed may have contributed to demise. New R&D HD turbo flex-plate kit will solve that problem. Trans rebuilt again, #3, twice by PO. Looking for a check list of things to check before trans goes back in, mainly...

    Track bar bushing

Got it, loosed frame track bar mount a bit and did come along again from a different angle, truck weight still on axle.

    Track bar bushing

Yes going to try that next, I went from dr knuckle to pass spring. But there is only so much clearance in axle spring pin holes, and track bar mount to frame is a 1/32, so it must be in the new shackle sleeves and new spring pins. Og pass side spring was tweaked a bit, leaned to pass side a bit...

    Track bar bushing

yes, did the full weight thing first, then compressed spring with floor jack further, as stated earlier that got the most movement, half a hole off still, going to assume got one of the "bad" ones. Pulled the track bar mount off, no extra bolt clearance there, don't want to elongate those holes...

    Track bar bushing

Must be some diff. in new springs and shackles from original, spring studs to perch won't allow any more movement, remains of old bush showed it was strained the same way, tried a 3/4 ton puller, chained from knuckle to opp. spring... no help, most improvement was compressing spring, got it to...

    Track bar bushing

OK figured out bushing issue, old outer bushing was still in bar, rust had it become one and the same with bar, so new Moog poly bushing set fits fine, now this was a replacement spring and shock job on truck in sig., stock D60, new stock springs, shackles, now track bar is approx 3/8 short of...

    EGT questions

I have a Banks DP on my 93, has plenty of clearance, installed it 6-7 years ago, have a C&C truck but don't think that would matter, cabs are all alike. Installing this egt guage and sensor, very well built sensors, used them in other applications https://thesensorconnection.com/products/egt-probes

    Track bar bushing

Yes, I pressed the old ones out, must be cab/chassis/4x4 got a different track bar, it's og about 100k (kind of an odd duck) on it now, either buy replacement bar or I can turn up some delrin/UHMW other plastic bushings

    Track bar bushing

Truck in sig, D60 leaf spring, got the Moog bushing kit, K80034, for track bar, bushings are 4mm larger the track bar eye, is there something different about a C&C truck? or I got wrong kit, got from Rock Auto. Would like to use my track bar, big heavy forged bar, but guessing there is a...
