Decided to just go with new factory loaded posi. carrier. Truck has 172,000 on clock has lived a good while on 37" tires. Truck is still drivable but gears are worn. I will be stepping up to a 4:56 from 4:10. I just bought truck sept. 2015.
I need to rebuild the factory trac-loc carrier in my truck. I need spider gears, side gears, clutch kit and cross shaft. Trying to find a source for parts other than Ford dealership. Anyone have any other sources I have looked high and low online with no luck.
New me truck after doing plugs and coil packs buddy noticed noise in front of motor in timing cover area. He's pretty sure it's timing chain issue. Truck has 171,000 on clock do you guy's think it's worth doing timing chains and guides or is it a waste on time and money just pull and rebuild motor.
New to me truck have no idea how old spark plugs are want to replace them. I'm aware of the modular motor issues with plugs having that said what brand of plugs seem to be the best for this series 5.4 .
Looking at truck that has rear end issues. May be a better option to change out rear depending on condition once we determine problem. Anyone know what model years would interchange with this rear.
Thanks for everyone's input figure if I can get truck cheap enough it would be cost effective to rebuild things over time. Truck will not be a daily driver.
Also I have another question truck 2002 f-350 srw . What model years will the the rear end interchange with. I already know truck has a...
2000 F-350 DRW 4x4. Looking to go from a stock LT 235 85R16 to a 285 75R16 requires using a 2" wheel spacer in rear to get clearance between tires. Anyone know how makes a good quality wheel spacer.
Just purchased a 2000 F350 Dually Crew Cab 4x4. The stock tires size is LT235/85R16. The truck has stock suspension was looking to put a little larger tire to fill wheel well a little more being it's a 4x4 . Anybody know how big I can go and not have a problem with turning radius and front...
Mishimoto makes one but a buddy of mine who runs a radiator shop has seen a lot of them fail with in a year or 2. They are around $800.00. He found a custom builder out of Georga for $1000.00 also Griffin Thermal Product out of South Carolina for around $800.00.
The truck is new to me has 116,000 don't know the condition of inside of radiator. Will be doing a flush and adding inline coolant filter just figured with age might consider replacing and if so why not get more coolant cooling capacity.
Looking to upgrade my stock radiator to a larger cooling capacity one. There are so many companies it's hard to tell which to choose not looking for cheap option looking for best performance and life. Any suggestions.
