    If the sending unit tests out fine, but the fuel gauge reads over the top, would this be a short in the wiring? Yellow or Black any ideas?

    Jeff, You can get to both tanks very easily with the bed off. The midship tank is the easier tank to get to from under the truck. The rear tank just has the spare in the way along with two cross beams.

    I made another attempt today, got the tank to drop further. But still not enough clearance. The filler hose seems to be holding it up. The hose clamp has the screw at top dead center so it is a bear to get a tool on it. Can the front of the tank drop 4" without breaking the fuel lines...

    How far can you drop the rear tank to get to the fuel lines (to disconnect)? I have removed the straps and fuel filler tube from the truck, started to drop the tank down, but stopped at about 2 inches. Still could not get clearly at the fuel line to disconnect.     #2 Prices I just made a trip yesterday through 6 states on I-95 mainly. PA was $2.79 NJ was $2.49 NY was $2.81 CT was $2.84 RI was $2.74 Mass was $2.89 These were basically all the prices that were displayed for the truck stops.

    Now when I went out and put the vacuum tester on the hose at the booster, it will only get to about 15 and it takes 30 seconds to climb up to that level. I have a new pump that just arrived, I just need to get a P/S pulley puller or buy a new pulley. What is the best way to get the pulley...

    I have a similar problem right now, but I am holding about 21 at the booster at idle. So how can we tell whether I should look at the vacuum pump as going bad or just start at the booster? Mel- I have already ordered a vaccum gauge to install in my pod.

    Joe, Glad to hear that the truck does run. Dry gasket on T-stat was probably not the best idea when we used the copper gasket maker on everything else when putting that engine back together. Hope it is an easy fix to the T-stat housing, check the upper hose at the same time. Can not wait to...

    Mel has a pop tester in his possession. Might be time to arrange for another group meeting as I am sure PaFixitman would love to have some help completing his truck. Not sure about the drop in mileage, but I know that the timing being tested and fixed was a very good move.

    Diesel Fly- did you get that tank installed? What type of mods did you have to do? The tank you got is 1/3 the price of the same tank from APN, but APN makes it sound like everything comes with it to hook it up except for the new straps.
