Do you have it out? And if it's already bad you have nothing to lose to open it up. you might just see the problem (like a bad capacitor leaking). And there would be a chance yo could fix it for a few dollars soldering a new part in. most of the time that's all these repair services do for $$$
Even if you find one. Odds are your old one can be repaired. I did this myself to the module in a '92 (trans module) Had a bad diode & capacitors. You might even talk to a computer repair, tv shop, etc. in your area to fix it.
Might just see about repairing ECM. Pull codes of course. I repaired mine. Had a bad diode, capacitors, and worked fine after the fix. I would think anyone who does electronics repair should be able to handle it.
I had the same air cleaner on mine. Replaced that when I did an intercooler and intake mod. Also 3" downpipe into 4" exhaust. Making the engine breath easier, especially the difference from that Banks intake made a huge difference.
Take an old wrench, heat and bend it (see pic) helps get to those bolts back left I think where there's no room to turn a wrench. And I replaced some with allan bolts instead of studs because the tool (long hex bit) fits where a socket and extension doesn't.
You should have the up-pipe and flange for the banks from the donor engine. If you didn't get that with the turbo then you'll have to fabricate the y-pipe, and the flange you can get on ebay and weld. The center cartridge on the Banks is the same as Garrett TO4B. There's some pics just paste-...
Dry fit and--So you have the downpipe bolted up as normal. Just find a spot where the v-band will fit and be accessible. Mark pipe, cut and weld flange and forget about the bolts to the turbine the next time you might have to pull the turbo.(there's some that are a real b to remove) I also put a...
Just thought of something else. Do yourself a favor and weld in a V-Band flange at the top of the downpipe. Then you wont have to mess with those bolts on the turbo outlet. The original air filter on the Banks really restricts air flow. I got rid of it on mine, added an intercooler and 4"...
The part number is 93001. You can do a search. Just put the number and the word gasket in the search. Summit has it. T-04 GASKET. Banks would be no help.
North Bend just far enough, but still too close to Seattle! Sure hope you don't have to do the I-90 commute. Looks like a cam should be on the list. And I finally remembered the cooling mod. Why did Ford plug up those passages? For emissions? DUMB! And I wonder if the term "rolling coal" doesn't...
Thewespaul. What is under your hood?OMG! And I know you all in Texas are crazy! Speed limit on SURFACE streets is 50/60mph. (around El Paso) What's the hurry! You gotta be pulling 12/14k or more. Josh Bear, did you search images for "locomotive smoke"? There's some that look awesome! You...
I do have a trans cooler and trans temp gauge, EGT and Boost also. Champion 3 row radiator. I used to drive truck and was surprised how fast temps went up pulling a full load (80k) through the mountains in so Oregon and n Cal. I did these passes with a (company truck) Cummins M-11, (330hp) and a...
Thanks all! So do you guys think it'll pull 10, maybe 12 k OK? My concern is getting up and over the mountains out here at a reasonable speed. And yes, nothing's bulletproof. Just that who sold me the truck claimed it has a billet converter and tranny rebuilt for towing, but who knows!
So I have a '92 which I posted doing the intercooler on. Well, that's all good, but the engine is TIRED! I picked up a '94 IDIT engine to rebuild and install. My plans are to build it to pull a 5th wheel RV. Lots of mountains any which way I'd travel from here (pacific nw) So here's my idea...
I wondered what was up with it. That's a shame because with the turbo block you get the larger oil cooler, I believe the heads have some mods, and whatever. I myself am hoping those differences Ford made do help (like with the bottom end, wrist pins rods) Because real soon here I am going to be...
I was looking into this and it's a mail in rebate at participating stores. https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mobil-promotions Also, Walmart has this for $10.97 gal. but can't use the rebate.
