New Glow Plug Time...
Thanks for the tips everyone, going to give it a once over tommorrow before ordering parts. Maybe this helps ID it a little also. When I go to turn it over, the WTS light will come on, maybe staying on for 5-10? seconds. I hear a "thunk/thonk" it sounds like. I'll cycle it, the WTS won't turn...- mohavewolfpup

I've seen in a few areas (just randomly online via searches) that a newer 6.9 controller (screws into the engine block) can greatly reduce frying the plugs? Should I add a new wheel well relay to the overhaul? As for the 7.3 retrofit, is that fairly easy or takes it down for a while? Trying to...- mohavewolfpup

Should I buy some Amsoil?
Wondering if that's my truck marking it's parking spots some. Going to mobil 15w40 at some point from rotella 5w40. Doesn't help I need to clean the block anyway, just need to jack it up and have a go at it :p- mohavewolfpup

Looks like the glow plugs are finally taking a dump in my truck. Anyone have leads on the good ones for a 6.9 diesel? This doesn't look good! (pics) help!!!
Not to kick you while you are down, but keep a eye on those BF Bad Riches... Had a issue last year with one causing $3400+ in damages to my brothers truck. Naturally they deny a problem. I'd sooner dig a bunch of wilderness at's out of the junkyard (and i've had a chance) to run vs the other crap- mohavewolfpup

Today was round two at the junkyard. Yesterday I had only 30 minutes to browse truck land (Ugh, Round two of a PT Cruiser Convertible Disassembly,Yes I am Good at it. too good....) It's insane how out of reality the market place is. 3-4k on the low end for these trucks, especially a basket case one? good god. It's like i've stumbled into the twilight zone of overpriced stuff. Thanks for your help jasper. $2k is a real tough sell on this vehicle. Unknown if it runs, oil filler cap appears to be broken off (lord knows if dust is in the engine/oil at this point) flat dead batteries, 6 shredded tires, etc etc. I'm figuring $1100 alone in tires to make it even move down...- mohavewolfpup

Where is the cps? And with diesel fuel, all I know about is algae. Does diesel go sour like gasoline (varnish, varnish plugs, etc etc) or it's more stable? Assuming the worst with the fuel- mohavewolfpup

Someone wants me to look at/get running a 1997 (10/96) F350 XL (Automatic, crank windows, original radio even) etc. It's a single cab, but a dually. you could also look into 3.9 cummins. Seen some rangers around youtube with cummins conversions. Debating one myself in a ranger. My knees though hardly clear the column in 90's rangers if I wanted a stick- mohavewolfpup

Also, look into the feasibility of "Pods" Don't know if you have seen those before. It's a container dropped off at a place, then sent to another destination. Looks like a sea container. The price of a uhaul rental is onpar with their pod offering plus or minus (not factoring in your air fare...- mohavewolfpup
