Oooooopppssss...I didn't see you had a turbo...I would go with something like 94IDITurbo7.3 has...anything else with that turbo really is not going to do you any good and is a waste of moola...
If you decide to go dual...do it right and go true dual. Your muffler shop can run pipe from each exhaust manifold and flat flange in pipe where needed to take out a section for working underneath whether to remove a tank, tranny or whatever.
I went with 2 1/2" all the way to the rear...
200 CC Hybrid
Wow...I don't know about a 200cc pump...On my 6.9 a 120cc pump is more than enough...but thinking in terms of my gearing....zf-5...bw-1345...4.10 rear....and the pumps govenor...sometimes I think I have to much pump...but that's just me. Towing my 5th wheel at 65 mph in the...
Hypermax!
And everybody thought I was crazy to go with a hypermax on my 6.9 build...At least now everyone has confirmation of just one of those bad boys will do for not only the 7.3's but also the 6.9's...
Enjoy that thang!
If your dead set on a reman or rebuilt one you will be very lucky to find one for less than 13 to 15 hundred, but if you are willing to go used you might be able to find one for 4-5 hundred and up....I found a used one and took the chance a few yrs. ago and paid $375.00 from a guy who really...
Dually Steel Wheels
I am near Ft. Worth...and if any are available...cleaning & powdercoating won't be a problem...I am just tired of messing with aluminum wheels....and I really want the steel wheels so I get powdercoat them black with ss or chromed nut covers and centers...
Thanks
Lug Nut Covers
The covers look really good...But I have aluminum wheels on my dually, but would rather have steel wheels like the ones in your pics. Got any ideas where I can get 4 steel wheels? The junkyards where I am don't seem to have any for some reason. I left a note in WTB forum but...
Cleaning the Evap
Mine was like that...I boiled it in water and vinegar for 6 hrs....After the liquid came to a boil I slowly dropped the evap in...turned the heat down to a slow rolling boil for 6 hrs...She came out clean...You will have to add water and vinegar often to keep it...
Rear Axle
I agree with Dave 001...If you have a Dana 70 it is pretty strong and you shouldn't have any probs...However, I think if you read up and compare Dana 70 to a Ford (Sterling) 10.25 you will find that the Sterling is a little beefier in more ways than one. I am not trying to persuade...
Warming thr gear oil
Thanks for the tip on warming the gear oil...As far as the "suckeroutterthingamajiggy" goes...It should work, but if it don't I will figure out a way to make it work...If I can't I will either "drop kick" it back to Northern Tool and get my Ten Bucks Back! LOL
Suck it Out
Yeah I decided not to drill...I bought a nice little gear oil vacuum pump from Northern Tool last night...Check it out...
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200475124_200475124 It is inexpensive, but it will work!:sly
Hey Guys...I went to change my gear oil in my front axle. It is a Dana 50 TTB (IFS). How do I drain it?
Do I use a suction gun or drill a half inch hole and tap it for a plug? I can't seem to find a drain plug...only a fill plug..
Thanks
Ok Guys...I really appreciate all the good info on my questions about the axle and the joking around was fun too. However, I finally found a couple of sites that went into great detail about the difference's between full and semi-floaters for our trucks as well as gvw's, wall thicknessess, type...
Call Google
I didn't take offense to call google...lol...I did before it was said, but I really didn't come up with much yet...I forgot about using google images...and maybe u-tube....I dont know why but images really works better and does lead to better info if you ask me...I just zonked...
Fullfloat
Good hearing from you again...thanks for the in-depth explaination. I did call Google earlier, but all I could seem to find was the last part of your explaination...ie...weight of truck...etc...
No one else mentioned the part about rolling around without the axles in...So, I...
Yeah it must be a full floater
Well I know my truck was originally a 250 HD and that center black/rusty thing is there too. Looks like you could use it as a handle to unscrew it.
Ok, so we know...Now what does "full floater" mean?
Thanks again
BTW...Sweet Tires...Same as mine I...
Hello Everyone...I know my rear axle v131a L10102 is a 12 bolt 4.10 limited slip axle. What I don't know is if it is a full floater or semi floater.
It has 8 bolts on the face that is in the center of the dually wheels. The face is flush with the center of the outside wheel. The wheels are...
Power Inverter
I bought a PowerBright XR-750-12 from Costco for $45.00 about 3 years ago. It is 750 watt continuous and 1500 watt surge with soft start technology. I mounted it has 2 ac outlets. I mounted it on the passenger side forward of the door just below the glovebox so wifey could...
Blow-By Meter!
riotwarrior...yes there is a tool to measure blow-by...it is NOT a leak down tester...basically it is a cfm (cubic ft. per meter) analyzer. It will tell you how much blow-by you have...There are specs for the engine that will give you how much is considered acceptable...if you...
Kroil
I bought some Kroil...removed glow plugs...squirted a little kroil in each glow plug hole...wait 30 minutes...turn over engine for 5 seconds...squirt another shot down each glow plug hole...replace glow plugs...wait overnight...make sure glow plug harness is unplugged...remove fuel...
Block Heaters
I can tell you that when I was stationed in Alaska (Fairbanks) it would get 40-50-60 degrees below zero at times...No-one and I mean no-one used the factory block heater...Why? Putting direct heat at the surface of the block in such a small area made the block...
