Bull Nose Crew Cab owners please chime in

I'm fairly sure the XL and up came with aluminum. Funny you mention that, I just saw two sets at the yard here three days ago.

Doing a rear brake job? READ THIS!

I installed Centric Fleet Service (Listed as Severe Duty on RockAuto) shoes about three months ago, still working like a charm. Riveted, and went on properly when I did them. I also used Raybestos professional for every other part (I replaced everything but the parking brake levers).

Gear reduction starter, starts like a new truck

http://dbelectrical.com/p-5652-ford-truck-case-69l-73l-diesel-starter-f250-f350-1985-1994-hi-tork.aspx I used this one, personally. It's a Nippondenso knock-off, but so far I can't say anything bad about its quality. Been under the truck nearly a year, and it was the easiest starting year...

    7.3 fuel filter heater wiring

The 6.9 may not have had the connector, but it does have its own connector for the heater on the line from the pump to the filter header. Look around for it and I would think you can just splice on a connector for the 7.3 heater and be good to go. Assuming the amperage draws are similar.

    water pump time.

I used an AutoZone branded (Duralast or whatever) pump when I replaced mine last. Four years and no issues yet (Although now I'm sure it will start leaking tomorrow lol). I will say if I did it again, I wouldn't use their stuff just on principle, as I've had too many Duralast parts crap out on...

PARTING OUT!! Complete '86 F350 turbo

That should be the color I need, if the front door panels are good, I'm interested. Power or manual windows/locks? What front seat, bench or buckets? Also if homelessduck doesn't end up with the turbo, I need the rubber inlet elbow from the airbox to the compressor, if you'll part it out.

Yeah, a York will put out WAY more air than these guys.

Hadley Air Horns (and misc. parts)

I have three compressors left. One is a H00850, but it has a head issue (trying to refurbish it currently). The other two are H00852 (older, belt-drive style, rather than direct drive). One of them works, but it's pretty rusty/corroded (probably from a coastal truck), and the other I replaced...

    Semi-Metallic Brake Shoes

Thank you, both of you. I think if anything, I'll try the Centric Severe-Duty shoes. They don't say they're semi-metallic, but they're a good price, and there's a good chance that they ARE semi-metallic. The Performance Brake website is interesting, I may try that sometime as well. Also...

    Semi-Metallic Brake Shoes

I am having a DEVIL of a time finding semi-metallic shoes for my rear brakes. Yes, I could get riveted organic Raybestos Professionals, but I really would like semi-metallic shoes if they still make them. Which appears like it may be my problem. I used Wagner's catalog to find that part #...

Hadley Air Horns (and misc. parts)

Yup, all of them. I didn't realize it, but it appears that the two older sets are in themselves a pair, as they are in opposite configurations. Also, they're longer than the standard H00910CA Bully (the new one). I think they may be the marine version. But that's just speculation. The Bully...

Hadley Air Horns (and misc. parts)

I have to agree, seeing as I went to test the one I wasn't using to test the horns, and it leaked. I think these are only like $20 new.

Hadley Air Horns (and misc. parts)

Yep, I have two or three solenoids, and I think two lanyard valves that mount directly into the bottom of the horns. All of that is used though, and looks worn. I've been using one of the solenoids to test some of the horns and it seems to work properly. I have not tested the lanyard valves...

Hadley Air Horns (and misc. parts)

No, all of the horns are all-steel. That long black Ambassador had its chrome sanded off and painted black and red for whatever reason. I figured on keeping that one for myself since I'll probably mount mine under the truck, and it doesn't matter if it's still the nice chrome.

Hadley Air Horns (and misc. parts)

I have a bunch of Hadley Ambassador single trumpet air horns, as well as three dual Hadley Bully horns. Also some of the Hadley compressors (the older, belt-drive style). I have the 29" ones and 26" ones. Some of it is brand new, some of it is almost-new, and some of it has some wear. I...

    A/C ORIFICE LOCATION

Somebody correct me if I'm mistaken, but PAG oil is only for R134a systems, which is fine if you're converting your system to R134a (or if it already was converted). But if it's the factory R12 still, it needs ester oil, not PAG.

    Dealing with Banks

Banks was difficult for me to contact when I was trying to get the install manual for my 1st gen turbo, but after like the third email, they did email me the manual, and since then, I have used their site to request part numbers and price for a few things (gasket for airbox, inlet elbow) and...

    Return Line Changeout

I was switching out my hard lines like two weeks ago, I finally gave up and just sat on top of the radiator, rather than kneeling on the core support (it was hot, knees were getting toasted). I will say, even though it's nice to have this big engine compartment in which to work, getting up and...
