Hi guys, Im here at oilburners because nobody wants to give me help anywhere else, but anyways I have a 1994 Chevy K1500 Z-71 and I have aquired a popping noise in the rear end somewhere. Only does it at low speeds and not all the time. I replaced the u joint closest to the differential. The...
Okay fellas, last few nights I've noticed my truck has been shifting differently and finally last night it started slipping really bad in OD and mildly bad in Drive. So today I pulled the pan and drained the fluid and changed the filter (after breaking 2 bolts off) and got it all put back...
Lol yeah that might be my problem. Because when I pull my 4x4 lever back it takes forever to engage. You have to drive a little ways for it to kick in. And even then sometimes it will flash or kick right back out
Yeah it dont have manual hubs. You just gotta pull the lever back. And it seems to be getting stuck close to the differential. Maybe the fluid needs changed
Okay jasper, Im not due for a change for about a 1000 miles but ill try that. And also, I jacked up my front end to check everything and all my tie rods and ball joints are tight but i did notice that my right front wheel will not spin freely. It will spin almost a full turn but you have to...
Every 3000. Using 10w-30 high miliage. Either pennzoil or whatevers on sale. I use 4 quarts of oil and a quart of lucas. And I pulled the pvc out the other day and it rattles when you shake it. I believe thats what it should do; correct me if im wrong.
Okay I'll have to check that out. But also another question, is it a major issue for the dipstick to read about 2 qts low in between oil changes? I have no visual oil leaks and the truck dosen't smoke. It'll smoke on a cold start a little but every truck does that.
yeah that kind of makes sense. that's probably the best guess anyone could have. i did mess with the timing of my distributor a few months ago so that may have something to do with it.
Doubt the coolant was frozen. Not that cold and didnt sit that long. Only about 3 and a half hours. I did some researching and saw something about it being the distributor running backwards after the truck shuts off or something like that?? Any idea?
Makes sense jasper but there's no way it could have been overheated. It sat in 20 degree weather for hours and I only went less than 2 miles. And the temperature gauge was buried on the cold end. And i drove it 10 miles to work today and didn't do anything abnormal
Okay so tonight I took my truck for a drive (about 3 miles) and when i pulled in my driveway and shut the truck off it made like a air rushing or almost like a shuttering sound. Then I tried to start it back up right after and it kinda didnt want to start. Took a few more seconds than usual. Any...
Not looking for drag strip power, but enough to really throw me back in the seat. I mean it has balls now, no doubt but with those 35s on there it drags it down compared to stock tires. And yes they are shorty headers and it was a mothertrucker to change the back two spark plugs on the drivers...
Don't you have to change the intake manifold to run a 454 throttle body? If so, I'd just switch back to carbuetor and run a holley 4 barrel and throw on an external fuel pump for the carb
