Anyone ever installed or use a severe duty fan clutch, does it really make that big of a difference or work better? And was there a different fan for this application. I've read up on the 6.0 fan mod for the Powerstroke, but that's the wrong rotation for the IDI. Would like to more CFMs across...
Read through the TECH articles that would be your best source for up-grades that work. Fuel, Starter and charging would be the first things I would take care of to make it ready for winter! Just saying
Been have problems with my WTS light and relay clicking away, and figured I would repair or replace before it got too cold and it was winter soooo.......Today was the day and decided to install a manual GP controller, what an easy install thanks to the write up in the IDI TECH section and...
I thought it was reading a little cool 130-150 with the sender sticking out of the pan in the breeze, already have a aux cooler on board thanks though. Never over heated it but what are gauges for if they don't read accurate!;Sweet
Thanks, just couldn't remember where that port was (Old age is creeping in) or I have just filled my noodle with other useless S**t! Do you have a ave. temp range you trans runs from that location, around town/freeway, unloaded?
I'm looking to relocate my trans temp sender from the pan (welded bung), If I recall there was a location on the body of the transmission you could install a sender. I would like to get a more accurate temp reading. Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks in advance.
I was having the temp slightly rise in stop and go traffic, so installed a 14" pusher fan from the junk yard and wired it to the AC wow what a difference in the cooling and the AC blows @ 37'. I was looking at the same rad also but I might hold off till the OEM craps out for good!
It was the maintenance weekend, what started the whole thing was a few drops of coolent coming from the water pump weep hole ending up on the ground. So ordered a new water pump then thought I should change out the fan clutch since I was in there, then figured I should change the t-stat since it...
The CA DMV just recently sent me a letter stating that I need to smog my 92 F-250. I told them it was a diesel and was exempt from smog due to the age of the truck and I didn't need to, they then required me to have the truck inspected by their "trained" official who had no idea what he was...
I have the same thing with mine, the gauge reads just passed the "N" ever since I had the Banks kit installed by Banks over 8 years ago. I did put a gauge on to it just to see what that position was in psi and was hovering around 45-50 just idiling in the driveway.
I've been using 3M superduty rubbing compound (for paint) with a polisher to get the dead plastic off, then Meguiars clear plastic polish with a micro fiber wheel on the polisher with good succes. Make sure you tape off the paint or plastic around the light to keep from damaging the surrounding...
