Me Too!
My truck is a frame rust truck too. That is why I'm selling it. The original owner had the frame after market rust proofed. A big mistake. Maryland uses 100% salt for snow. The salt water got behind the rustproofing and did a number on the frame. Engine is fine, the frame scares...
Still Need to Get it Right!
diesel4me2,
Thanks for the help. Jumping the two red wires got her started, but I don't want to run into anything in front of me.
Anybody khow to remove this "thing". The thing is right up against the firewall. It appears to split in half to slide over the...
I'm fixing, or in this case breaking a few things before I sell my truck to a friend (bascially giving away because he's on hard times).
I did the pedal fix and there wasn't mush distance between the new bearing fitting and that safety switch (?). First time I depress the pedal I broke some...
4.10 Not Needed
I just bought a 08 CTD with 6 sp. auto and 4.10's. She has so much low end power and with the way the 6 sp. is set up, I don't think the 4.10's are needed. I only got the 4.10's beacuse that's all i could find around with the truck nearest the one i wanted.
Got to work on...
First I would like to thank everyone for the years of help! Everyone was always knowledgeable and patience.
Especially Mel for all you efforts to make this kind of thing work.
I will be selling the IDI after I clean it up. I'll be sure to send whomever get's it this way.

Just a possibility. I might be selling my truck this summer. Check out my signature. What should I ask?
Selling assets to get that Class A RV I got my eye on.
Thanks!
So this past weekend I trailered the boat home (from Canada) thru the hills of NY and PA on I-81. Maintaining 70+ mph and about 2,750+ rpm the truck ran excellent! Often at 950+ egt and 9+ psi (intercooler still on the floor of the barn)!
Banks says not to exceed 240 deg oil temperature. I...
I did the solder thing in the module and that took care of all my wiper problems years ago. However, I wasted money thinking it was a switch or wiper motor.
Over 3 months since I started the IDI. She fired right up;Sweet ! However, I noticed she was pulling to the right:dunno . I figured either low tire air or rusty rotors. However when I hit the brakes, she pulled to the left. Still thinking maybe rusty brakes, I drove one mile. Hit brakes...
Reading your response again Mel, I think I understand. I found a new Ford aluminum end cap type that I read is the way to go. Still in Ford box.
BTW, WMRR running thru often and I always stop what I'm doing to enjoy the sight!
So I just typed a long response and must have hit one wrong key and lost my reply.
No real reason to add the intercooler other a great deal on e-bay. I'm not going to put any $ into the A/C. I can do without. The truck seems like it's become the snow truck and miscell. stuff.
Brothers,
I'm going to gut the A/C and make room for the intercooler. I'd like to sell the system after the removal. Besides the visual obvious parts, what might I forget to remove?
Thanks!
Brothers,
Very soft brake pedal. I can pump the pedal and have good brakes. As I hold the pedal it fades to the floor. I don't see any leaks and fluid level is fine.
Probably something basic, but a new one for me.
Thanks in advance!
What where you doing to spend $3600 over a 6 month period? That's sounds crazy. I've spent less than that on mortgage. I'm only spending $140more than that on 2 new zero down cars (a 2007 and a 2004). I have a saying, "it's not how much you make, but what you do with it".
