I used grab handles from a second gen Explorer of the same color. The Explorers have 3 handles (none for the driver) so I had to find two Explorers the 4 handles. I also snagged the clothes hook. Took my time measuring the location of the holes in the steel so the plastic trim pieces would look...
Not sure how relevant or helpful this is, but I changed my factory rear leafs in my '96 F250 4x4 with some Superduty B code leafs. Had to open the holes in the shackle. Also used a lift block from a same year F350 but that is unrelated to why I am responding. The B code in the rear rides much...
I put '99 and up Superduty B code rear leafs in my '96 OBS F250. I used the factory 4" blocks from a F350. One or both of the holes get drilled slightly bigger and ATS provides the larger diameter front bolt. The old front bolt gets moved to the rear. I gained the 2" of height due to my...
My '96 has stock 3:55 gears and a little larger than stock tires.
I gathered a set of axles with 4:10s as they mathematically would result in the exact same speedometer reading with the 37" tires i planned to run.
For daily driving, I did notice the 37 tires with the 3:55 gears, but it was not...
Call (1-888-943-8287) and ask for Junior at ATSsprings.com as he knows exactly what you need.
There is only one OBS (the body style you have) front leaf rate for the F350.
I had an old set of front leafs that someone put a helper leaf under it. I just replaced them with new leafs from Junior...
Thanks! Yes, removed my RSK and went back to OBS leafs last year. Full droop shock length is 21.5" so your shocks are fine. I'll send a PM for shipping details?
Almost looks like the dogbones have a left and right side?
I can only share that when I replaced all of my TTB's bushings I wrestled, cussed, pried and come-along seemingly every connection and nothing looked right.
Your response helps show how far technology moves in 11 years. Smartphone apps can read codes and all sorts of other sensor readings with an inexpensive bluetooth dongle. I'm not that adept at this and use my Aeroforce gauge to read codes, etc for me. And it is always installed. I'd pay a...
Let me google a little...I'm using a truck frame and axle under a trailer, and think I will keep the E brake function, so it only needs to connect to the 92-97 cables.
That engine hoist accessory laserjoc shared is a great idea! I'll take a look at that.
I live in Denton too, just south of town and can sometimes hear the Bill Utter Ford dealership paging speakers.
I also do most of my work alone as another person is usually a distraction.
The trolley...
OBS = 8x6.5"
SD = 8x170mm
For those unfamiliar with a tape measure, the SD is closer to 6 and 3/4 of an inch than it is 6 and 1/2". With a four lug or an eight lug, you can measure across two opposite holes or lug studs.
Yes!!! It drains a little slower but that gives you time to grease all of your zerks. I have one on mine...my oil pan threads will never wear out or be a concern.
Is this a year model issue? I got factory 3/8" lines and bypass a few months ago for my '96 and haven't installed them yet.
Edited to add: Dangit, I didn't pay attention which forum this is. If it is any help, I got one line from rockauto and another from fordparts.com. One of them also...
Craigslist is worth every penny it costs you....
Gotta be smarter and wiser than they are and see a sucker punch before it is thrown...figuratively speaking.
i could use a nicely priced D60 with 4:10s but am in TX otherwise I would have thrown my hat into the ring.
Glad the wife can...
It's a little long to read, and some of the picture's links are old/broken but there are enough tidbits of details left to figure this out. I am sure there are better threads that someone else will share...
The rears are almost a direct bolt it. A hole in the frame mount and I think in the shackle needs to be enlarged. In my opinion this is a worthwhile effort even if you don't do the front solid axle swap yet. Superduty B codes are what I used. I was amazed that I could move the suspension my...
