    Manually unmounting tires

you just got to work little by little to get the tire over the rim. if you get too big of a bite, it'll be too hard to stretch over. get a little bit, then move 2 or 3 inches and work it over. leave a screw driver or something between the tire and rim so you dont lose your spot

    Manually unmounting tires

Lay the tire on the ground and run it over with your truck. Try to get the edge of the tire as close to the unmounted wheel as possible so you can break the seal from tire to rim. Flip it over and do the other side. It's easiest if you have someone watch you do it. Then just get some large, flat...

    7.3 does everything but fire

I got it figured out. I actually did that before I tried to actually start it. I had a bad connection somewhere along the line. After I fixed that with a little puff of ether it fired right up. Loud as hell! And it smokes as much as every kid with a Cummins wants theirs to smoke! My problem now...

    CB antennas on the mirrors

I had mine on my rollbar and ran the coaxial through a flood plug in the bottom of my cab. I see a lot of guys run them off the front of the bed

    7.3 does everything but fire

I've got a 7.3 N/A sitting in a frame. Just trying to get it started to make sure all is well before I worry about anything else. It's cranking pretty well, just not firing. The IP is clicking on and I'm getting fuel out of the return line, a good bit of it actually. The only result I got so far...

New Batteries, New Cables, Blead Lines, No Start

I'm having the same problem. I was running an alright battery with a junk battery the past couple days and it would crank fast the first few cranks, but then it would slow down. I took the battery out of my truck, which I know is good, and now it doesn't crank fast at all. I think I have shitty...

    If it were your truck...

If you do your interior, I'd go with the vynal floor over carpet. Makes cleaning so much easier. I have the tan interior in my half ton and it cleans up really nice and it's hard to tell if it's dirty. I personally like pipe bumpers. Yeah, they're becoming a thing of the past, but they even...

    Rebuilding an 84 6.9L

I recently picked up an 84 6.9L and a bunch of stuff for it. I'm using it for a completely custom truck. This being said, I want the motor to last forever. As it sits, it's got X00,000 miles on it. I know nothing about it, except that I pulled it from an old tow truck. I know for a fact that it...

force to sell my last two trucks

On waiting for the right deals on motors... I picked up an 89 7.3 n/a, 2wd ZF5, wiring harness and motor mounts with 111k for $200. That was this passed summer. A few weeks ago I picked up a running (had it running before I pulled it) 6.9 n/a, radiator, fan shroud, wiring harness, motor mounts...

    Flywheel Question

Thank you! Will I have to keep the T19 or will it also be compatible with a ZF?

    Flywheel Question

Is it possible to use the flywheel from an 84 6.9 with an 89 7.3? I know the 7.3 has the DMF, but I dunno if that would make a difference or not? My problem is, is when I was bolting that goofy plate to the flywheel (the one the clutch presses against. not sure what it's called) I only had 2 of...

    A Couple Questions....

I'll have 3.55s. Here's another question I have that seems to be a major issue to me. What about my fuel pump/sending units? I posted up before about putting this motor in a 77 truck, but that project fell through. Then, all I had to do was find a way to run a return line. Since the gasser was...

    To do list

Not sure if this is the truth or not, but I've HEARD that the K&N filters don't grab the smallest of the dirt particles. Thus, taking out the bearings in the turbos. Don't hold me to this, just going from word of mouth.

    A Couple Questions....

I'm currently in the process of making a bastard child out of my two 3/4 tons. I'm using the frame from an 88, the body from an 89, a 7.3L out of an 89 1 ton and a 4x4 T19 from somewhere in the 80's. Being completely new to IDI's I have some questions. 1. The 7.3L with the 4spd...will I have...

    77 F150 Motor Swap

I'll probably just run the 2wd ZF for now. I don't take the truck off road or anything like that. The truck is too clean to beat up. I'll just run it like that, until winter when I take it off the road.

    77 F150 Motor Swap
