Rear seal not a big deal to replace though expect to get the wrong part at least once or twice from the parts house and/or dealer.
just use either a 3 jaw external puller on a slide hammer or a large seal puller and it'll pop out. Installation of the new one is easy I use one of my large...
please tell me you're pulling the injectors for some other reason other than to do the GP's if you're just working on the gp's then you do not need to touch the injectors.
the OD light flashes b/c of an error in the trans
The hard shifting is a result of the computer putting the trans in what is called "limp home mode" which gives you very hard shifts.
Take the truck to a competent shop that can pull the trannycodes. Unfortunately autozoo and the free scan...
throw some mothballs out around where you park to keep the critters away. you'll need to replace every 3 or so months or more frequently if they get rained on.
for the F350 which I think will apply for the f250 as well that the rotor & hub are a pseudo assembly.
Some places sell them as an assembly however they are easily seperated your lugnuts hold the rotors to the hub. To remove you will have to dissassemble hte hub completely.
You can use a...
so can we go to TDS & try to derail the inevitable my truck is hard to start when it's cold how do I replace glowplugs thread into a Merry Christmas thread :D
I can say that I replaced my hoses on my '95 last sept when the truck was 9 years old the hoses were the factory parts w/ aprox 150k on them. They were in good shape and still rigid. I replaced them only because I had to replace the waterpump.
For hose clamps if you're out to spend extra...
There's nothing really wrong with them. I have a custom conversion that's essentially the same thing except w/ the body style prior to the superduties. The earliest 6.0's are somewhat of a gamble as you'll find about 50/50 that love & hate(d) their early ones.
Plan on spending some money on...
My truck has a glavanized bronco tank in it and has for the past 10 years. When centruion did the conversion that's what they put in for a fuel tank. I've had no fuel system problems other than a fuel pump that went bad after 150k(normal).
I have seen problems w/ WVO in galvanized tanks.
Dualie,
When I sent my injectors to bean they did tell me that some of my poppet valves were out of spec and those were corrected while they had them.
In all honesty give BDP or Swamps a call and ask them directly. I've found that when I expected to get non-answers I got straight answers...
I'm guessing it's some fancy dancy electric gizmo that's on them thar new fangled trucks.
With his list of mods It honestly wouldn't surprise me if it was part of a custom fuel system though.
yep you can use either long block in either truck. There were some changes in the head castings in an attempt to minimize the noise from the engine over the years but as far as mechanical interchangeability no difference.
Oh wait I take that back on the early obs heads he intake ducts are...
oil burning VW requires a special grade of oil, Castrol is the only us mfg/dist and from what I've read it's only in a few stores so dealer is the source for most buyers and it's relatively expensive.
As far as servicablity they are just as easy to work on as any front wheel drive car which...
From what I've read (I haven't done it myself) it's not extremelty difficult mechanically more that it's a PITA to reach all the way back there to the turbo and do the work.
The boots tend to not need replacing unless you tear them somehow.
The up pipe gaskets & the manifolds tend to...
Honestly I think that the secrets of building a very strong E4OD or 4r100 are becoming much more common for those in the trans business. The pieces are readily available from what I understand and it's pretty much common knowledge of what fails and what needs to be upgraded. It's just a matter...
Here
is a link to a guy who used a 2wd ZF in an early bronco and what he did to make it work. It is a pseudo divorced setup.
A divorced mount NP 205 would be another option for you to use that 2wd ZF if you decide to go that way I happen to have one I'm trying to get rid of.
not sure what would be involved in changing the trans from 2wd to 4wd
I've researched doing the same thing and found that from people who have done it before there are some floor clearance problems with a crossmember on some cab configurations (I don't remember exactly but believe it was...
I've gotten several trans from www.mantrans.com for different vehicles. Good shop w/ good warranty. (1yr unlimited miles)
Edit: They are the remanufacturer that I've found out that most of the shops use in this area. Actually came recommended by a tranny shop. You'll have to do the swapping...
don't know what you consider excellent fuel economy. brother w/ 4.0 in his jeep is only pulling down mid to upper teens.
The tranny if auto is more than likely not a C6 since the small block C6 trannies were generally put behind the larger power motors (351) It's quite possibly a C5 which is...
Yep the WTS light still comes on when the GPR is toast or even unplugged. I lucked out and got a truck wired with a nice little plug for the triggering wires on the GPR and right now mine is unplugged and I still get the WTS light.
So yes replace the GPR an that should solve the problem.
