good oil for the duramax?
I too own an 01 LB7 and I have been running Rotella T 15w-40 from the beginning. However, as mentioned above because you live in Wis. you no doubt experience some really cold temps in the winter time. 19.5 Rims/Tires
Try these two links: http://www.brentzwheels.com/ and http://www.americanforcewheels.com/ Make sure you verify load ratings on the wheels. I think the second web site may have that issue. I would say this is correct in that you may not notice any gains by adding the Big Head Wastegate, but I believe that GM ain't all that good when it comes to variations in their stock parts. Fuel Filter Change
Buckeye, got your PM, but apparently you can't recieve them.....So, I haven't had any issues with the secondary filter kit. I will be changing the filters in another 1500 miles which will put about 15K on the secondary kit filter and 11K on the OEM. I'm gonna cut them open and see what they...- HeartbeatHauler

Finally gone and done it....
Go find a beater 62-64 truck, then shorten the cab and doors and add them to your current truck. It wouldn't be a full 4 door they would be smaller just enough to use a short bed behind it. I really don't know much about the 6.5, but I seem to remember reading something about the glow plug controller heating up and not allowing the plugs to heat up after a cool down. Is the glow plug controller something that can cause this type of problem? Then this FSD or PMD where is that...- HeartbeatHauler

I believe he is refferring to the amount of time the injector remains activated. This allows more fuel in without raising the fuel rail pressure. Coolant Change Question
Holy Cow! My truck is an '01 and I haven't changed the coolant yet! I planned on doing it at 5 years, but I have recently learned that Dex-Cool is rough on hoses. What hoses need to be changed and are there aftermarket (read cheaper than dealer) places to get the hoses? JP- HeartbeatHauler
