Hey guys, I need to make the bracket that holds the down pipe on the 088 kit(Not the same as the 093) and I need the measurements, maybe even a picture next to a tape measure. Your help is much appreciated, I want to get it mounted so I can sneak it to the exhaust shop on Wednesday...

    Possible new truck, won't start?

Found an '87 F20 on CL, has 7.3l w/ revised GP's. Harness is trashed. Put jumper wire on FSS, jumper cables on battery, and fired a shot of ether at it and no go. What gives? Doesn't even pop. It sounds like it is spinning ok(Well, a hell of a lot slower than my current one), but even if...

    Troubles in Vegas

Or should I say, on the way to Vegas. I ran into a "small" issue on the way here, that being that I cannot make any noticeable power during the heat of the day, the motor gets too hot. On my first leg over some 5-6k ft hills, I had to drop the EGTs to between 6-700 degrees to keep the...

    Knapheide box keys?

I recently picked up a Knapheide box with no keys. It has a T-Handle that twists to open and a separate lock mechanism that just swings up to block the inner bar from moving. The lock cylinder itself(inner body) has a "10" stamped into it, but there is no key code on the outside. Anyone...

Track bar, how I hate you so!

So someone leveled this truck before I bought it, and that raised the front end 2". So now I have a track bar at a gnarly angle to the ground, and it's destroying the bushing with a quickness. I do have intermittent issues with "some" vibration(I've felt the earthquake before, and I don't have...

    Farkin' Injector line leak

So, the line for the rear cylinder on the pass side is leaking at the pump. What is the best way(With what tools) to tighten it without disturbing ANYTHING else? The S-Wrench I have hits the manifold before I can turn it. When I changed the pump, I put the lines on before installing it, and...

    Fan clutch and thermostat info?

Hey guys, just got back from a short run up the mountain with a GCVW of around 12k #'s. My new gauges are telling me the truck is working too hard. At the top of a 9% grade(1500'), in 3rd gear, at 3000 RPM, my temp gauge was hovering right around 230 degrees. EGT's at 1100. I thought these...

    IP leaking

I seem to have a pretty decent fuel leak from the bottom of the pump on the opposite side of the Advance arm. Can anyone tell me what that giant plug is for and if there is a seal I can replace? The pump is less than a year old from OFI, but I don't look forward to removing it again.

    Tach reading low? (New sensor)

Hey guys, I bought a new OE sensor and installed it the other day. The tach reads 400RPM at idle. Sounds fine, and I can take off fine(Stick shift). Also, when towing(55mph), When I spin it up, I can't seem to get the needle to go past 2400 RPM, and I don't want to downshift to third to see...

    Budget concerns - Upcoming trip

So, I have this trip to Vegas planned for June, and I don't do this sort of thing hardly at all, so I really don't want any issues. That being said, my list of things to do to my truck at 244k miles has become quite expensive. right now I'm looking at; SW gauges for Oil, Temp, and EGT...

    Heim mod fun

So I took care of it this weekend. original rod end had 1/4 of material worn off it, and the previous owner put a pair of vice grips to hold it on. It did work great though, for at least 2.5 Years. I certainly wasn't very happy with Ford's engineers when I was taking care of it though. I...

    460 Clutch behind 7.3 with ZF-5

I've looked all over the net and couldn't find an answer to this question. Will a clutch made for a 460 ZF5 work on a 12.25" SMF converted IDI? The only difference between the two is that the pressure plate fingers on the 460 are a 1/16th of an inch "shorter" (When both are on smooth cement...

    Drivetrain twist under load?

Anybody seen this? I was towing a loaded bumper pull 18' sided(5' walls) trailer full of wet wood(even heavier) and coming off the light, or any time I shifted I was getting A LOT of side to side rock with my shift sticks. I've towed this load 4-5 times before, and I've never heard the shift...
