the only downside to this event is that it is TRUCKS ONLY, no diesel cars allowed
The date is Saturday Sep 24
It says the engine is a 2001 year model, that would make it a 24 valve. Those engines had a "53 block" which was very prone to cracking. They also are not mechanically injected.
PMs have been flying between Ddestruel and myself, this is the truck that he built many years ago.
He has been more than a wealth of info on this truck which has 296k on the conversion and another 100k on the Ford chassis.
I had completely forgotten about this thread

I did not do the conversion, I bought it that way. My engine is out of a 96 with the P-pump rated at 235 hp. The trans is out of a later truck with NV5600 6 speed manual. Front axle is a 90 Ford F350 Dana 60 and the rear is a Dodge Dana 80, gears are 3.55s. Transfer case is NP241. It all fits...
as the owner and driver of a 97 F250 former 460 gasser truck converted to a 96 P-pumped 12 valve rated at 235 HP from the factory, I can say that I have never looked back on my old 86 with the 6.9. My 96 Cummins is hooked to an NV5600 6 speed manual and the diffs are 3.55s. Its not often, but I...

I love my 12valve Cummins truck, its the one in my sig. I consistently get 19 mpg in town empty and have gotten as high as 25 on the highway. Towing a UHAUL car trailer dropped me to around 20 mpg and the power was there, only dropping out of 6th a few times to maintain RPM and keeping EGTs...
that truck looks and is identical to the 71 Ford "Williamson" Wonder Bread truck my buddy bought about 20 years or so ago with a blown up 3-53. He repowered it with a 72 440 mopar and a built 727 automatic and for several years he used the truck in his mobile auto repair business. The truck...
I have two trucks, one is my original diesel purchase an 86 F250 4X4 with the 6.9 and a C6 and 4.10s and I love it to this day even though it is a pig on the highway at 11 mpg and a top end of a little more than 70 mph.
My other truck is the one in my avatar, and I bought it the way it looks...
Hey PapeCAT:
FYI
there is a 2wd Dodge crewcab of about 1990 vintage out in North Highlands I see whenever I head over to visit Mom.
Its on Elkhorn Blvd (on the north side) between Watt Ave and Larchmont DR.
Its past the shopping center, the Jimboys and the fire station, but on the...
