    Just talked to 95_Stroker

He's doing OK and he/his family is safe. Apparently things got a little hairy Tuesday when the authorities moved the evacuation zone for the Casper Mt. fire to within 5 blocks of his house but even though the smoke made it look like a really heavy fog outside and there were chunks of charcoal...

    Help--Cruise control doesn't work.

For the last few weeks, my cruise control hasn't worked and now I'd like to fix it. Background info: I've got a 2002 F-350, 7.3 PSD, ZF-6. I replaced center high-mounted brake light, but that didn't fix the problem so what should I look at next?

99SD and older PSD the same?

Yep--you forgot the wheelbarrow full of money it will take.

    ? re: custom DP-tuner files

Has anyone had Jody write/burn a custom file for running at high altitude? I live above 6,000 feet MSL and most of my driving is around that altitude with maybe 20% being lower and 20% being higher than that. Is the altitude I run at something Jody can correct for to make up for the somewhat...

what size downpipe on a 2000 F250 PS?

My 4" MBRP downpipe fit just fine with no firewall "modification" necessary. Granted, there's not a lot of clearance, but there's at least 1/2" all around the pipe of free air space.

    Couple of Bio-D/VVO?'s

    1) Is it safe to add ~ 5gallons of peanut oil to my fuel tank or is there a better oil to add in? 2) Will a dino-D and VVO mix clean out the fuel system like Bio-D does and should I expect to need to change the fuel filter soon as I would if I ran Bio-D?

FS: carpeting for CC Superduty w/manual tranny and t-case

I've got the gray carpet I pulled out of my 2K2 Crew Cab Superduty with the ZF-6 and manual transfer case lever and since it's just sitting in my shed, it's going up for sale. Overall, it's in good-to-great shape, since I had Husky liners in it from the day I bought the truck and there's only...

    No Start

It could also be the oil level--if it's low enough, the injectors won't fire. I don't know if it would also cause a no-start, but that's something else to consider...

    Edge leveling kit?

That's what I ended up going with--I'm pleased with how it rides and the fact that it's dead-on level.

    No Start

I'd take a gander at the GPR--try sticking a big screwdriver across the two larger terminals on the GPR to see if it starts. If it does, drive immediately down to NAPA or the IH parts house and buy a new one. Swapping it is a ~20 minute job from start to finish (beer and cleanup included) once...

    ESOF NO WORKEY

Have you checked the vacuum line connections to see if they're leaky? If so, the ESOF wouldn't work right. IIRC, Bob Riley sells a replacement ESOF hose kit that's supposed to clear up the problem of leaky ESOF lines, but since I've got the do-it-yourself T-case and hubs, I've never really...

AARGGGGGGGGGH--Problem with PML front diff cover

$250 hole... No, the $250 hole is not a "menu" item at the Chicken Ranch--it's how much I'm going to have to fork out to get a new servicing on my front diff and a new OEM diff cover. Yeah, I know it's pricey, but I already gave the shop my OK to order the parts/fluid so I'll stick with them...

AARGGGGGGGGGH--Problem with PML front diff cover

You've driven on the roads off of Pershing (Maxwell and Van Lennen) to my casa--do you think I could make it down either of them with a lowering kit?

AARGGGGGGGGGH--Problem with PML front diff cover

[Church Lady Voice] Well, isn't this special... [/Church Lady Voice] Some background: When I serviced my front differential 1,000 miles ago, I decided to replace the diff cover with a PML aftermarket unit for extra fluid capacity and the fact that it has a drain plug so servicing it should...

    Mudflaps

I saw that once on a semi when I was living in MT and while it's not something I would want on my truck, I did have to admire the creativity of whoever did the wiring...

    Mudflaps

If you get the ones with the chrome naked lady cutout, see if you can rig up a circuit w/two LED's so her ahhh, errrr, uhhhhh, "high beams" come on when you have your headlights on.

    Shock?

Since the stuff I have listed on Ebay is doing waaaaay better than I thought, it looks like I may be able to put new shocks on my truck sooner, rather than later. So, my question is, with a 2.5" leveling kit on the frontend, will I have to go with extended front shocks or are stock-lengh units...

    smoke at start up?

If your GPR is bad and it's warm enough outside to start w/o the glow plugs, that could cause excessive smoke. A new GPR is ~$50 at the IH parts house, so if you feel like throwing parts at a problem, that would be a good place to start.

    air box mod

Yep--I do. While the Tymar does draw underhood air, it flows sooooooooo much better than the Stage 1 aFe kit I had that the greater volume of air going through the filter makes up for the slightly higher intake temps. I had to put a WW on after installing the Tymar since it flowed such volume...
