Haven't been around here much latley However I couldn't help but read that you developed a knock? that knock is likely a glow plug tip on top of a piston the consensus is right ditch the oem controller My 86 did the exact same as yours The only diffrence is I had already installed a button...
I don't want to be negitive here ! how ever did you mark your bolts and put them in the same location? The wrong bolts in the wrong holes can be a big mistake !
I would definatly wait till it starts doing wired things! The odd one lives to be a ripe old age!And using the groth formula will definatly gain ya sum. :rotflmao
do the mods first
Do the relay mod first and forget the headlite switch !Mine was flickering like yours and I did the mods and never looked back!Replace the plugs at the lights if they are burnt too.Leave the switch alone till you do the mods you likly won't need to replace it!
I just thought it was neat these guys spend so much time and probably a big bag of money building small working engines that just sit there and run .
Just to say it can be done I guess? I'd like to see how and what the cranks and stuff are made of I'd imagine they are 2 stroke Duno.

Yup I go there for the same reasons. You sure got to watch what you say and whom you say it about ,I used the term Pussy in place of cat once a little humor you know ,and had a post altered cause it offened a mod and not the person it was directed at!Chippy. There not going to be happy till all...

Warden in this case his controler is still working in the start cycle! It will shut off after the apropriate time!It is sticking on in the after glo mode thats where This fix is a little driffrent ,the button is an interupt not actually firing the relay on it own!
yup
you'll never have to buy that expencive set up if you do this!Ive had mine set up like this since before my controler failed and I hardly noticed my controler had failed except i intentionally pushed pushed the button one day after it was warmed up and found the glow light was still...
