    Oil additive

I have a lifter tapping after the car has been sitting for a month. Dirty is prolly the wrong word, as much as dry. Then again...the motor has 170k miles on it so I shouldn't be surprised. I use Wix filers and Mobil synthetic in everything, pretty sure it's not cheap oil or a cheap filter.

Hi guys, it's been awhile.... I was trying to remember the name of the oil additive that you can use to free stuck lifters and such. Can someone remind me please? Thanks Shades

Heavier wire from GP Controller to Batt?

Thanks. I thought I was going crazy. So I can just run a 6 gauge wire from solenoid to GP controller, and disconnect the existing (hot) wires and let them hang? I'm replacing all the batt cables so, I figure this as good times as any idea to do it.

Heavier wire from GP Controller to Batt?

I'm preparing for another trip to northern WI at Christmas this year. I'm getting ready to replace the batt cables. I remember hearing, or seeing, or reading something about replacing the wire from the GP Controller on the back of the manifold, to the battery. I seem to remember it had something...

    Front Seat question

The wife and I went to claim our house in northern WI over labor day (her grandma passed in July, leaving us with the house) and while we were there, my Dad had a heart attack in Denver. He's fine...had a quad bypass...got home from the hospital and was complaining my mother was watching the...

I thought the melt temp was 1220 degrees, but I would think it would have to be sustained for a bit.

    Another tire question

Well the tall and skinny tires worked half as well in the snow than my Durango with 31's on it. There wasn't enough contact patch to bite anything, not to mention all that weight just caused the tires to sink in the snow. Apparently Ford re-thought that as well, as my Dad's 99 7.3 has the same...

    Another tire question

Well, $1k later and she has new shoes. I put the Yokohama Geolanders on and I like them. Quiet on the road....and the truck feels more stable. Not to mention, they look better than stock tires. I don't understand why Ford sent these out with tall, skinny tires. It's a truck, not a wagon. The...

    Another tire question

Sweet.... I'm not looking for serious off road, just enough that if I go out into a semi wet field, I can get back to the road. Something tells me crew cab, long beds are not the ideal off roader. I dunno why that is....:dunno Any reason factory steels can't hold a set of 285/75/16's? I...
